Ford - Missed Payment 11 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Last month for the first time in 11 years I missed a payment, yesterday I spoke to Ford Credit to say I would make a payment manually, however when I got home I noticed the car had a sticker in the top corner of the passenger side windscreen. The sticker was blue and said Ford OK and a tick. The sticker has been applied from the inside and could have been applied since Sunday as I haven't been in the car. -

Honda Civic experiences 4 Sep 2006 (Forum)
What should we be looking at, she probably does less than 10k a year. Will the 1.4 be enough or is it underpowered for such a big heavy car? Are there any issues which we should be aware of? I have already told her that as part of the test drive she needs to take it to a car park and practice some reversing due to the rear windscreen visibility issues. -

Last mainstream car with front drum brakes? 8 Feb 2021 (Forum)
Clearing some junk out of the shed last night, I came across a set of brake shoes for a long-extinct Vauxhall Viva - front shoes, that is. The car was an early 'HC' model - '72 'J'-reg - but it got me wondering when did the last mainstream car roll off the production line sporting front drum brakes? I remember the ones on the Viva were dreadful, BTW :-) -

Suzuki SX4 S-Cross - water ingress and garage bill 11 Nov 2019 (Forum)
I've had an issue with water ingress in the driver's footwell after the recent downpours. I've been to the local dealership who have now looked at the car and think that the ingress is due to leaves blocking the drain holes under the windscreen. They want to charge five hours' of labour at £92 per hour for draining the holes. I told them I found this excessive and they've agreed to charge me for thee hours. -
Land Rover Freelander 2 - intermittent wiper fault. 9 Oct 2018 (Forum)
Hi all, my son has just bought a 2010 Freelander and there is a wiper fault. They stop in the middle of the windscreen when they are set on constant or intermittent, even if you press the washers to clean the screen they sometimes will not work. The car is in the garage that it was bought from but like all good intermittent faults it is being a good boy with them. their diagnostic computer is not showing any faults, so they have a water hose on the screen with the wipers on but as yet they have not stopped. -
Volkswagen Bora - Saturated footwell 4 Mar 2015 (Forum)
The drivers footwell is saturated in water. I can see it running in behind the petals but don't know where it is coming in from outside the car. Some forums say the pollen filter can cause this problem but can it come from there and end up in the drivers side?? Are there drains for water coming off the windscreen. I really don't know where to go from here so any advice would be greatly appreciated. -
Rear Demisters Niggle 13 Dec 2009 (Forum)
How does the element deteriorate? Does it change its composition over time carbon build up or something? I've never had a car over ten years old where the demister worked properly, which is irritating as rear windows with demisters are expensive to replace, something I wouldn't do anyway. But it is such an inconvenience, even if you stop to wipe they can mist up again before it has warmed up the windscreen enough. -
Water ingress Accord 2001 24 Aug 2004 (Forum)
Before I start messing around with watering cans and torches can anyone suggest a likely source for the leak. Initial thoughts were in no particular order: Windscreen seal, pollen filter (I know a blocked filter can cause leaks on other cars not sure about Hondas though), door membrane. Many thanks 9000. -

Any - Removing Window Tint Film 12 Mar 2020 (Forum)
Crummy wee pot-metal ball joint mounting, perhaps made deliberately weak to avoid pedestrian injury, is proving tricky to fix in a way that’ll allow and hold adjustment, concentrating my mind on the fact that I couldn’t see properly through the back window due to bubbling of the anti-sun plastic film. This is probably a common problem on older cars here in Taiwan. Cue an Internyet search. IIRC I looked here https://cartreatments.com/how-to-remove-window-tint/ and went for a combination of Method 3 “Solar Peel” – you put black plastic from a rubbish bag over the outside of the glass which heats up in the sun (usually reliable here) and transfers that heat to the glass, softening the glue. -
BMW 3 Series E46 - water leaking under carpet in drvers footwell. 16 May 2014 (Forum)
Ive checked the drainage points on the inside of both wings and they are not blocked. I have read I need to remove the windscreen wiper arms as there are another 2 drainage points underneath. I can't get the windscreen wiper arm off. Ive read that you need to press down on the wiper blade 6cm from where the nut is and it should pop up but its no luck. -
Jaguar X-Type 2.0d 2004 170k miles - Car UNDER heating 9 May 2017 (Forum)
