• Vauxhall Corsa C - central locking and immobiliser 10 Nov 2014 (Forum)
  It's my daughters car and she would like the pretty white instrument cluster too...her words not mine! If I keep the ecu on the engine from the sxi, swop the immobiliser circuit boards and the instrument cluster. Is all I need after that the body control module please? If so where is it? Cheers. Dave

  Had a number of problems happen to my van started with speedo failure, then temp gauge and coolant fan giving up. I replaced the fan, temp sensor and then Ecu anti start system and barrel, also the speedo sensor.  Temp gauge now working and fan cutting in as should. But speedo still not only getting the Flickr from the needle I had before, ( tried dash in a mates hid and it works fine) Forced to drive the van to work with inop speedo the engine mmanagement light has now come on and wont go off.

  She said that it's quite a common fault, but I can't seem to find anything about it online. Could it be an ECU problem? Many thanks in advance for any help :)
• Honda Civic City CTDi - Loss of power and starting problems 8 Sep 2014 (Forum)
    My mechanic has changed the crankshaft sensor and fuel injectors but this has not corrected the problem.  He suggests it might be a problem with the fuel pump but more likely the ECU.   My only option is to take the car to Honda - but before I do, is anyone aware of this problem and what the solution might be (and the likely cost to do so).  Thanks for your help.

  I have just the basics and hasnt got any keyless or keyless start. If i buy a refurbished unit, do i need to reprogram the ecu. 2ndly, Can i get something from the local scappy and install it 3rdly, Is there any diagrams or layout or instructions on how to remove the unit. Will it involve messing with the airbags.

  As this will drastically reduce clutch life and fuel economy.Throttle position sensors and housing have replaced and reset. To little effect. Normal driving ok. Possible ECU programming/Glitch or software problem ????? It has only covered 7K miles !

  A few weeks ago while out shopping I came back to my car and started it as usual,but after selecting reverse it cut out and has not stated since.Earlier in the same thing occured,after many pounds and searching with my mechanic friends we diagnosed a open circuit ignition transponder ring.Parts changed timing belt and tensioner lp pump hp pump hp rail sensor ,fuel pressure sensor,ecu and bsi checked and given a clean bill of health.Anyone out has any theries on what is stopping this car from stating as i am using my sons car and he sort of needs it back

     I tried the iyalian service which produced a loud ticking noise which will not go.     I have replaced and recoded the injectors/ecu, cleaned the TDC sensor and the fuel pressure sensor but the tickin perssists.   The car now runs fine, all errors have been cleared and don't come back.   When I pull each of the injector plugs off in turn they all sound alike but ticking continues.

  I have a problem with my mondeo TDci without any warning the car losses power and goes into limp home mode . If I stop and restart the car the ecu rebooted it resumes power . Sometimes I get warning bleeps from dashboard The temperature gauge stays steady at the mid range normal,sometimes when the faults occur the temp drops down to the cold.

  Hi, had a slight misfire on my BMW, felt like a fuel problem that has got worse, it now had a blank spot when accelerating from 500-1000rpm seems okay over this with no back fire, I have replaced all filters plugs, leads, dist, ECU, cam sensor, and injectors and have checked the fuel pump, it now has no power under pressure, okish on the flat and down hill but struggles up hill, i have noticed that 1 and 4 plugs run dry and 2 and 3 are wet/normal could the 02 sensor and cat converter be the problem?

    I have a 08 fiesta here, showing a drivetrain warning light, and in limp mode. 5sp Manual. Ecu shows no faults, and indeed logs a fault if i disconnect a random plug( map/maf/tps etc) Engine off+restart it goes away for 15 ish seconds, but comes back on even at idle. Any ideas?

  However within the 3 months but over the 3000 miles limit it developed a fault and I took it back to the dealer I purchased it from. It is apparent that the ECU could be at fault as is being tested now. The car dealer lent me a car until the tax expired at the end of May when I had to hire a car - leading to more expense. I currently have another loan car for a limited time.

  Why would a glow plug cause this problem of moving off when the engine is running ok. I believe that this model has no ECU fitted . If it had an EGR fitted would this cause the problem. Appreciate any comment.

  We have tried replacing the ECB, Filling the additive, Re-setting the level for the additive and still no joy. The fault will come on 3 to 4 days after having the ecu codes cleared and will then stay on for a random period of time before turning the engine management light off itself. The enginerecently blew up and was replaced at which time we changed clutch, flywheel and got a recharged FAP from peugeot.

  Mechanic thinks its becase of replacing the clutch and the code just needs re-setting or clearing from ECU but he hasnt equipment. Gonna take it to a diagnostic place on Monday but any clues here to what it might be?

  Watching live data it doesnt seem to lose crank signal or fuel pressure, it just stops as though the ECU were requesting it. there are no fault codes etc coming up.The flywheel and sensors etc are all original to the car, timing is correct and there are no leaks or air in the fuel system.

  All this seemed to do was stop the temp gauge on the dash working. Are there 2 sensors one for the gauge on the dash and one for the ecu?? Or does this one sensor do both jobs.??? Thanks phil

  I've only taken it for a short (4 mile) test drive so far. Any pointers much welcomed. Is it likely to be a solenoid issue, a control (ECU) issue or the 'box itself? And is it best to fit a known good replacement unit or have this one repaired?? Many thanks......

    The revs will suddenly drop and if you don't nail the throttle she just cuts out.  The ECU light has come on, it does this sometimes but has normally reset itself next time you turn the engine on. But this time, no dice and the cutting out is really getting on my nerves and is potentially dangerous.
• VW Bora Fuel Pump Relay 27 Apr 2011 (Forum)
  I have tried replacing relay "109" which I believe can cause problems but this has made no change. The AA have plugged in their diagnostic software and there are no errors stored on the ECU. The AA man said he thinks it could be the fuel pump relay which is a multi functional relay which could explain all the other lights. Before I take in to be looked at does anyone know the whereabouts of the fuel pump relay?
