  However he decides he wants something similar but with more kit, more room and less agricultural. I find new shape Forester Turbo Auto with leather for him. The dealer offers poor p/x against old Forester but superb deal against CR-V. So, Honda goes, new Forester arrives and I will drive old Forester until I choose a leased car. Then I start nagging the Back Room about Saabs, BMW X3s, Volvos, and Audis.

  HI,  I've got just over half a tank of petrol in my car, which is not getting used daily as it used to be.  I'm running it a couple of times a week for 10 minutes or so.  Will the petrol be ok for the next few weeks or can it get 'too old' and affect the car?

  My car will not start and the garage says the fault code is p0088. other forums say this is a common and expensive fault, anybody else had any experence of this. Is it worth fixing or is it cheaper to scrap an eight year old car Thanks Dave

  new car but very noisy. drumming noise varies with road surface. Sounds like it needs damping kit under the car!! Have wrapped spare wheel with old blanket to no avail is this typical of octavias or can i do something about it

  Is there a straightforward way of stopping the trip speedo coming up with INSP ? The car is a year old, and has had a service at the local independent. The mechanic is on holiday just now, and I don't want to go out of my way to a main dealer. Car is a 2005 Astra 1.6 Club, petrol.

  There have been several reported sightings of an unmarked police car in this area and I believe it may have been next but one in a queue behind me yesterday.  What looked like an old souped up black BMW, black windscreens, with various neon etc lights at the front including the blue-purple flasher variety.

    From what I can make out the consumers right act takes into account the age of the vehicle, and what a reasonable person would expect.  Am I expecting too much from the dealer to take the car back and repair the engine?  its only 3 years old and only has 9000 miles on the clock and has a full service history.   Thanks,

  He said he thought it was coming from the clutch. He then went on to say to me that it was my driving that was causing it! I am 80 years old and have been driving for 55 years!  When I questioned his attitude towards both me and the car he flounced off without trying to resolve the issue with me in an adult way.

  I recently bought a used (3 year old) car.  A 2012 Ford Focus 1.6 105bhp (petrol) with 18 000 miles on the clock. I had the car for just a few weeks when I noticed smoke coming from underneath the bonnet whilst driving up a steep hill.

  Recovery driver said probably engine coolant into oil circuit. Car driven minimal distance since and will go into 2nd or 4th but not 3rd. 1500. At 68 I am old world car savvy but have never worked on this model. Is it worth using Radweld say and draining and refilling gearbox?

Car has been taken to Insurers Approved repairers and they have just rang to say it needs a new bodyshell so is beyond economical repair (write off) What happens next? Having been a long term member of site I have seen some comments on about not accepting first offer, Garage has said car was immaculate for a year old car not a single mark or dent before accident(she really looks after it) Parkers value a year old one with the same miles as £7005 dealer (to buy), £5930 Private good condition or £5480 p/x Will I be lucky to get anywhere near some of these figures if so which one?
