Audi A4 (1995 - 2000) - 99 Avant auto B5 Tdi - engine vibes through body 25 Sep 2007 (Forum)
So, whilst applauding the honesty of the independent Audi dealer (and also the fact that he didn't charge me anything), I am back to square one. Anyone have any ideas? What's the cost of a speculative engine-mount change? Paul -
Audi A7 Sportback - Petrol cap 16 Mar 2023 (Forum)
Hi everyone, so my petrol cap on my 10 year old Audi A7 recently locked - I tried all the things online (ended up snapping the release cord off). I took it to the local specialist (not main dealer). It wasn’t a difficult/expensive replacement but the guy said to me it happens all the time as the motor brakes. -
2006 Audi A6 saloon tdi - water leak 2 Jan 2020 (Forum)
Earlier A6's had problems with water under blocked drain plugs that were under the battery but that is not so with my audi as the battery is in the boot. I do not have a sun roof. Any suggestions where the water could be getting in would be much appreciated -
Audi A5 - Fuel economy 2 Oct 2018 (Forum)
Ok so modern cars are obviously great and all, but I am really struggling to understand how my Audi A5 2.0 TFSi S Tronic is so economical? As it’s passed 15k miles it’s really stepped up. Over the last 2000 miles (a mix of Manchester congestion, and motorways) I am averaging 43mpg. 10 years ago I didn’t get that from a Ford Focus 1.6 petrol. -
Audi A8 - Consumer Rights Act 2015 16 Jun 2018 (Forum)
I am entitled to a 30-day right to reject the car: - under the Consumer Rights Act if the car is unfit for purpose, of unsatisfactory quality or not as described. Questions: 1) Can I choose to take the car to Audi or a specialized mechanic to rectify all the faults? [As I don’t trust the dealer] 2) Can I ask for “compensation” (reimbursement) on price paid as the car has had many panels resprayed? -
Mercedes/BMW/Audi/VW - Premium small automatic 8 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Currently have an Audi a1 s line 1.4 s-tronic, won't be purchasing at end of PCP term only because of long term risk of the dry 7 speed gearbox. It has however been excellent so far. Anyway, I would like to get another premium hatchback next time that must be automatic, preferably torque converter box but also something that I can believe to be reliable for a decent length of time. -
Audi A6 2008 - Garage repairs 6 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Good afternoon I'm after some advise on garage repairs, my car wouldn't start November 16, took it to Vw/ Audi specialist, he advised car had dpf filter blocked up also rocker cover needed to be removed and cleaned due to running car on incorrect oil, I had a bill for replacement dpf from motor factors and fitting for £1045, car has been back in garage since end of January 17 due to breakdown, garage said oil filter was clogged solid and caused the engine to blow, I'm not a mechanic, but Surley this should have been replaced when the original repair was done? -

BMW 120d VW Golf 2.0 Tdi Audi a3? - New car choices? BMW 120d 13 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Looking to downsize to a smaller car that actually fits in a parking space (try parking a Mondeo size vehicle in Tesco). I have narrowed the choice down to a BMW 120d VW Golf VII 2.0Tdi or an Audi A3 2.0 Tdi. Have had a run yesterday in a 12od and really liked it. Has anyone here run one of the new shape ones for a fair length of time? I will do around 70,000 miles in three years and need a reliable vehicle. -
Audi A3 TDI or Golf TDI - Help please! 17 Mar 2013 (Forum)
Im a first time poster in need of some advice please.Im looking for a smallish second car and have kind of narrowed it down to the above.Ive got a small budget of around £2,500 and autotrader has plenty to choose from and i came accross a lovely T reg Golf TDI 110 77,000 on the clock and looks in great nick...i thought that would be the one, until i read the honest John review and "the bad points" bit!!! Now im totally confused and it seems the Audi is a safer bet if not more expensive....has anyone out there got any advice they could offer me? Thanks in advance. -

Audi A4 B5 - Do I have a flat battery? 27 Feb 2012 (Forum)
Hello, I wonder if anyone can offer me some advice? My Audi's battery is running flat after 3 or 4 days of not being used. I've checked the voltage (12.88 v) and removed the neg and am getting a zero reading when testing amps. When the engine is running I'm getting over 14 v The battery is only 16 months old and this problem was there when I bought it but I used it a lot more then so it wasn't really an issue although I keep it trickle charged during the week in case I get stranded. -
Audi A4 - Cars coming off lease 11 Mar 2011 (Forum)
So I am now interested in buying a 3 or 4 year old Audi A4 and was expecting to see a fair few coming back from lease or finance companies but I have not seen that many. Have been scouring Autoquake, Carcraft, Autotrader... etc.. Should I be looking anywhere else ? -
Audi A6 - Gearbox ECU 10 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I had my Audi A6 serviced at a main dealership. At the same time they did a gearbox oil change for me. They returned the car to me and said all the work had been done OK. That evening as I went to drive the car for the first time, the gear selection indicator was flashing solid. -
Audi A3 1.8T (2003) - Please identify this engine part (photo included) 13 Jan 2011 (Forum)
A few days ago my car (Audi A3 1.8T 2003) started to be really sluggish under acceleration at slow speeds, idled roughly etc. I suspected spark plug fouling or something up with the air filter, but when i took the cover off the engine i found a burst air? -
Audi A4 1995 1.8 - Overheating problem 2 Sep 2010 (Forum)
Had a problem with my old Audi overheating. The temp just keeps rising and the water bubbles back into coolant header tank, not seeming to go into the radiator. I don't seem to be getting water or oil in the others hood! -

I have an Audi A6 2.0 Tdi Avant - 2007 (57) 7 speed Multitronic gearbox. On most days either cold or full working temperature the engine revs will stay high when approaching junctions. Eventually they die down to normal on stopping.
