• Volkswagen Golf - dpf recall on volkswagen golt 30 Jul 2012 (Forum)
  This made no difference as the dpf light came back on after I drove away. Can I take up this matter with Volkswagen UK - I have had few problems with the dpf before it was "repaired" under the recall. What could I reasonably expect them to do?

  But her journeys are mostly about 12-15 miles each way. I know everyone says you need a long run to keep the dpf clean but is it a long journey or the engine temperature that determines if a dpf is kept clean. She does these trips in rush hour and normally takes about 45 mins, i wondered if this would be enough to warrant a diesel or stay with a petrol.

  I have been told that to replace the faulty dpf unit on my golf will cost me 1500 for the part. This seems high to me, but i have no way of checking it. Does anyone have any advice?

  Has anyone here any current or recent experience of running a Renault/Nissan with a DPF equipped 1.5dci? It’s a fifth injector set up, so regen diesel injection can’t dilute the engine oil, and I’m looking for real world experience of the frequency of regenerations.

  At a recent car boot sale some lads were discovered sawing off DPF/Cats from parked vehicles. The site owner apprehended the culprits and called the police whose response was just to issue a crime reference number over the phone Not a great outcome for the car owners !

  Recomended  by HJ as VAG's finest diesel engine which was dicontinued as they could not get it to meet Enviromnmental standards. But how can I be sure that it does not have a DPF?

  I was having a little chat with a "customer services" person about this and that and dealers are going to be "requested " to ask people to sign a disclaimer that will say they have been advised about the usage of cars with dpf systems..dealers currently receiving training.. Stable door clanging shut or what....

  I've never owned a diesel so a blocked DPF has never been an issue for me. Whilst out walking the dogs this morning, I noticed a neighbour was having their's cleaned by a company whose van proclaimed they fixed DPFs. Apart from the van, the tell tale signs were a fast revving engine and clouds of light coloured smoke.

  Mazda like several other manufactures ( new Honda Accord, new Toyota Avensis ) appear to be generally limiting their higher spec models to diesel engines only presumably to satisfy Company car drivers. I understand that the new Mazda 2.2 diesel is a closed DPF system. What is a closed DPF system and will it be better for longativity?

  I noticed the exhaust tailpipes were black with soot. Did X5 of this vintage have a DPF fitted ? if they did , why would the tailpipes be sooty ? Thanks

  My daily driving has now dropped to 4 x 2mile journeys. Up to now I haven't experienced any problems with the dpf unit. The engine is rated as a Euro 6. Whats best, a weekly longer journey or look at a petrol car?

  Hi! Does anyone know of this car is equiped with a turbo and dpf? It's hard to belive that it gets 75hp form a 3 cylinder 1.2 liter without a turbo, but couldn't find anything about this engine.

  My question is would my car output some decent sound (better than stock lol) or not as I still have the DPF intact? Yes I know I can have the dpf removed and it would make a huge difference but the thing is my car is already remapped and I heard you have to remap your car again when you get a dpf delete.

  Hi All , I have a 2014 Auris estate 1.4 Diesel...The Engine light has come on. Got it checked by a mechanic who said it's the DPF and advised to run it hard on the motorway. (I've noticed much lower MPG and the start stop doesnt work since the light has come on) I also bought a few bottles of Wynn's DPF cleaner and have tried to do the regen on the motorway but the light is still on.

  I have a question. My dpf light is flashing on my 57 plate mazda 6, bought it a few month ago full mazda service history aside from the service done by the garage I bought it from. Plugged it into the diagnostics machine and it is saying there is a dpf problem.
