  The engine management light comes on intermittently - one journey on; one journey off. MB diagnostic test is inconclusive.  (HJ suggested using Shell V Power which I will try) Anyone got any other ideas or remedies. Thanks

  On the other hand the engine would be at home in a WW1 aircraft, a 1670cc rather under square air cooled V-twin with pushrod operated valves albeit with four valves per cylinder, the redline starts at a car like, almost diesel like, 5500 rpm and it pushes out a modest (in superbike terms) 90 bhp. However it is not about power, it is about torque, you can troll along at 1500 rpm in 5th, about 40mph and open the throttle and it sounds like some is firing an Oerlikon twin cannon behind you, you can feel each power stroke, ?

  Does anyone know where the main/PGM-FI relay location is on a 2009 Honda CR-V 2.2 CDTI (diesel).  there should be one (main) relay in the under hood fuse box and another (fuel pump) in the cabin fuse box.  But both fuse boxes do not have either relays.  this is the cabin fuse box.

  Im not entirely sure of the year of manufacture however the car is a vauxhall astra (v reg) 1.6 16v auto. The problem i am having is that for that past 2 months of having the car the power steering has intermittently gone off and come back on again whilst driving at no particular time, Now the steering has completely failed and has given me a constant battery light on the dashboard, a funny thing is that when this happened i turned on the fans which made the battery light go off and let the power steering work again for about 2 minutes now it doesnt work at all.

  hi to all and thanks in advance for your replys. i've got a 307 hdi 110 52 reg, and its not got much power like the turbos not kicking i need your help, i've checked all the inter cooler pipes and also checked the turbo at a big struggle!! and they all seem fine. and today when the misses went to drive it, it went into limp home mode but the engine light didnt come on which was strange, she turned it on and off 3 or 4 times and away it went again. we had it in about 2weeks ago to have the fuel addative reset and the bloke said there were some codes in it which were 1435, 1442, 1446 which wouldn clear. any help would be v much apperciated.

  currently run a bora 1.9pd 100hp. due to change in the next 6mths. will likely stick with vw diesel so what are the pros and cons of 1.9 v 2.0 . am i better to get the 1.9 and lightly chip it or get a 2.0. for the extra power or stick with the bog standard 1.9 and go slower ? jag.

  Whatcar have carried out a study (read it at whatcar.co.uk) on Superfuels which concludes many of them do nothing in terms of mpg and acceleration times. Looking at the results for a 1.6 Focus, Total and Esso 97 octane fuels come out above Shell V power for improvements in acceleration....which is what I found when I switched from shell to total... Worth a look anyway....

  Although it’s possible I may use it for commuting  I perfectly happy to stay with Honda, but can adventure to other brands.   The price difference between standard unleaded and premium (e.g Shell V power) locally is about 6%, so only worth the extra if mpg is increased by more than this amount.   Obviously some cars designed for higher octane fuel will go better, my question is not about acceleration/speed but mpg in normal driving.
