  After the repair the chip is still 15mm x 9mm and according to the pamphlet it the windscreen repair centre in the driver's view. Do these technicians read their own pamphlets? Moral: If you need a repair done on windscreen for MOT go armed with the MOT page on windscreen damage and a ruler before you pay anything!

  when the wipers are set to auto they give 1 wipe when turning right and also when going over some bumps on the offside thas happrns on bright sunny days so nothing to do with moisture on the sensor also sometimes they do the same when starting the car any ideas?

  Now, is there any chance of my mate been able to claim under the car's warranty? Surely he shouldn't be expected to fork out the windscreen excess which he can't afford at the moment, when the fault was almost certainly caused by a manufacturing defect. Does anyone have any idea if he is likely to have any luck in getting them to fix it F.O.C.?

  2001 Fiat Ducato LWB (high roof) van. This vehicle's windscreen has to be replaced about four times in the past year. Apparently its due to 'body flexing' thereby cracking the screen at the sealing rubber. Any of you technical people got a solution ?

  So having straightened this out it was OK. The easy test for this is to wind the sunroof back and block the front drain holes with tissue (test they aren't blocked!), fill the sunroof surround with water and ensuring the car is slightly up-hill so the water has to use the rear drains - you should see the water disapear from both sides (appearing under the car infront of the rear wheels).

  Since the cold weather started my car heating /AC adoes not seem to be as powerful as it was.Today heating on full blast and its like a trickle then after about 5 mins of driving i heard a small pop and then the heating came on full blast as it normally would and then had a very acrid smell coming through the vents for about 30 seconds then all OK and the heating was as expected is this the thermostat that's sticking .Because i thought the car was on fire at first.

  I've just had to have the Quickclear windscreen replaced on my Focus, and the replacement (Solarshield Safevue) is clearly not a Ford part nor is it made by the same manufacturer that Ford uses. My criticisms of it are that it is not tinted (the original was tinted) and the unheated areas at the sides are larger.
