A mild-hybrid version of the 1.5 TFSI will follow shortly after launch using a 48-volt system to provide an extra 50Nm of torque and allow the A3 to coast with the engine off for up to 40 seconds. Further petrol and diesel engines will follow, as well as a plug-in hybrid model. The A3's dimensions have grown slightly, with a marginal increase in width and length compared to its predecessor. The height has remained the same but the seats are positioned slightly lower, contributing to improved space for passengers. -

RM bags more than £21m at its London sale 11 Sep 2013 (News)
The top-selling car from the collection was the 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet B, which achieved £820,000, closely followed by a 1932 Mercedes-Benz 15/75 HP Mannheim 370 S Sport Roadster which made £770,000. A 1956 300SL Gullwing also sold well, securing £739,200, while the 1961 roadster for sold for £716,800, further reinforcing the market’s love of both the iconic 300 SL derivatives. -

Klemantski AC Aceca in Brooklands Auction 25 Jan 2011 (News)
No stranger to competition himself, Klemantaski sampled single-seater racing at Brooklands in the 1930’s, and later went on to enter three Monte Carlo rallies and five Mille Miglia as a navigator, including the 1953 race for Reg Parnell in an Aston Martin DB3, and then in 1956 with Peter Collins at the wheel of a Ferrari 860 Monza that would go on to finish second overall. -
