  My car heater is of no use until the engine has fully warmed up (a couple of miles or so). Nissan Micra K11. Yet I sometimes read postings about clearing ice from car windscreens in the morning which advise drivers to first of all start the engine and turn the screen fan heater on.

  I have an S-Type and the heating was coming through very hot inside the car despite using the controls to turn the temp down. I have dual zone controls if that helps. My local independent changed the heating valve unit and this worked for a week.

  Have recently purchased a 2010 Mondeo Hatchback. The rear windscreen washer jet is very good at washing the road not the windscreen ! Anyone any ideas on how to align it ? Using a pin results in a bent pin ! Using a stronger needle results in a broken needle ! Cheers, Mike.

  My wally of a son (ive calmed down slightly since) was showing off with his mates when i left him alone in the car for 5 mins today (he is 13!) and pushed in the electric wing mirror button too far. Its now got a hole in its place and im unsure how to get the panel off so i can put it back in place again. Its below the heating dials, ive had a feel around and tried to pull off the front but i dont want to split the plastic or indeed make the heating dials do the same thing.

  Hi Something really wierd has started to happen ( this morning) Bit of a electrical problem happened after i jet washed the car, but has never happene before, and i requarly take it to the jet wash 1st, I noticed that the drivers side heated mirror, dosent heat up. however the position adjustment controls work fine. but the passenger one works fine And Normally when you go to switch dipped lights on, on the indicator stalk, you would select the switch to Sidelights and then to dipped (and the dipped indicator on the dash would illuminate).

  Hello again, Thanks for the advice about vehicle purchasing in another thread. I purchased a used Honda Civic and am very happy with it. The car was approved used and spotless having been valeted etc. My issue is with the windscreen. Apparently the car has been polished and whatnot but my visibility is pretty bad during the rain (which has been relentless as of late).

  I have a 2005 Ford Focus MK2 with rainwater leaking into the passenger side footwell. If I pour water on the corner of passenger side of the front windscreen the water will make its way to the passenger footwell. It looks like it makes it’s way down the A pillar and into the sill. It then enters the footwell via a hole in the inner sill.

  My Octavia TDI (1999) has an intermittent fault with the windscreen wipers in that they frequently fail to stop, and when they do eventually stop it can be at any position on the windscreen. This can happen when using any of the wipers speeds or the intermitant setting.

  A recent thread suggested sugar soap as a possible product for cleaning windscreens. I have recently been doing a lot of decorating and the plastic bucket seems now to be mildly etched. I do not know of its effect on glass, but I suggest that windscreens maybe a missuse of the product.
