Jaguar S-Type 2006 - Heating full on and very hot - RichardK

I have an S-Type and the heating was coming through very hot inside the car despite using the controls to turn the temp down. I have dual zone controls if that helps. My local independent changed the heating valve unit and this worked for a week. Now the heat is again coming through full on for just the drivers side only. Not sure if it was just the drivers side originally.

Jaguar have indicated that the heating valve unit may be faulty or I need a new Air Con control module. Any ideas of what they cost and fitting?

I paid £147 for the heating valve unit plus £92 in labour.

I recently had the opposite problem with the heating running cold. It was traced to a failed outside air temperature sensor near the radiator which confused the system into thinking it was hotter than in reality. Could yours have failed and be causing the system to think it is colder than it is?

Good luck
