When will I get my replacement driving licence?

I've been waiting 10 weeks now for my replacement driving licence as I'm now 70. How will foreign car hire firms react to non-production of up to date docs? What are the DVLA up to? Even at 8.00am you cannot get through to speak to them. I despair.

The DVLA is currently processing replacement licences for people aged over 70 from August (see www.gov.uk/guidance/dvla-coronavirus-covid-19-upda...e) and say that these applications will be cleared in the next two weeks.

They also confirmed that you can't hire a car abroad without your new licence.
