  • Should I restore my classic car? 30 Apr 2018 (News)
You know how much it means to you, how much it’s worth, and how much a restoration would cost. But for us, there’s a much more important question to ask: ‘Should I enjoy my classic?’ The answer to that is an easy yes. How you do that up to you.
  • A Grand Monday: Mercedes-Benz E220 W124 29 May 2017 (News)
It'd repair easily enough at a good bodyshop, and not too expensively, either, but an insurance repair would have factored in an entire rear quarter panel, which would have run into thousands. Critically, there are no nasties on the MoT history, suggesting the all-important rear subframe is still sound as a pound. And at 173,000 miles, it's barely run-in. We're sure it won't be perfect, and we can practically guarantee there'll be stuffing hanging out of the driver's seat bolster, but in pricing terms W124s are on the up, and you'll struggle to find better for £850.
  • Unique 2012 AC 378 GT Zagato Prototype in Historics 4th March Classic Car Auction 4 Feb 2017 (News)

  • Heroes: Stanley Mann 11 Feb 2016 (News)
Abandoning photography, Stanley set up his vintage Bentley dealership, first behind the butcher’s shop run by his family in Edgware, before moving to the Fruit Farm in Radlett, where for the remainder of his career, he traded with the world. Stanley became the market-maker for vintage Bentleys and almost all of the important Bentleys around the world at some time passed through his workshop. Restoration was a forte and it was not unusual to see a rather tatty, decrepit old Bentley enter the works in a pitiful state, later to emerge as a pristine LeMans replica, much as had happened in period at both the original Bentley works in Cricklewood, not far from the Fruit Farm and at HM Bentley and Partners.

  • Spotted in the classifieds 26 Apr 2011 (News)
If you’ve got a full drivers license though, there are far more vehicles for sale. But you’ll still have your own ideas about what’s important when buying. Fuel economy is high up on everyone’s list at the moment, and alternatives like hybrids and electric vehicles are increasingly popular. But there are those who deny the problems caused by fossil fuels, and relics remain from a time when petrol could be frivolously burned.
