windscreen cleaners 15 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Has anyone discovered how to safely remove the thin film of wax that speads across the windscreen, when a car has been through a car wash (with wax additive) or someone has hand washed it using a shampoo impregnated with wax? It is almost impossible to see through my screen when it is dark and raining. -
Is this a record ? 8 Nov 2017 (Forum)
Perhaps the BRs could tell me whether some cars have separate switches for front and rear foglights ? We don’t get fog nowadays as we used to. I remember riding my motorcycle combination slowly through the centre of Salford during a smog. -
Vauxhall - Panoramic Windscreen on Astra 11 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Has anyone had experience of these Panoramic windscreens ? Are they a good idea or just a nuisance feature ? I find it strange that you would want to introduce more glare into the car in this way, but not be able to open a sunroof ? Comments ... -

USED PRICE 4 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Hope HJ doesn't mind me asking this question in The Back Room but I noticed someone else posed a similar question earlier this week. I am trying to sell my Aug 01 (Y reg) blue Fiesta Zetec S with aircon, 6 CD stereo, heated front screen and electric mirrors. The car has covered 5000 miles and has 1 owner from new. What price should I realistically expect if I advertise the car privately, and what figure should I be looking for as a part-exchange. -
Changing Volvo 440 22 Jan 2002 (Forum)
My dad has an "M" plate Volvo 440 2 litre auto, which has served him well. He would like to change it for a newer car. The Volvo 70's don't fit in his garage. He needs an auto, would like heated front seats. He will use the car for going to and from his static caravan about 170 miles 12-14 times a year. He does not like my Focus estate. -
Sticking stickers on windscreens 25 May 2021 (Forum)
Was reading somewhere about someone who had stuck a sticker on someone's car which was parked in a disabled bay without a badge. What is the legality on sticking stickers on someone's windscreen? Normally the car will be parked on a supermarket's carpark and not on the high street where my guess is that different law may apply. -
Renault Clio 1 Petrol (1991 - 1998) - 1997 1.2RL Brake and rear wiper problems 16 Jan 2009 (Forum)
It seems to be a lot worse when its cold and wet, and seems to dissapear on dry days. The same noise is made when the handbrake is pulled up whilst the car is rolling slightly. The car stops with no trouble at all but it's very loud and makes me feel pretty unsafe. Any ideas? I've also lost the use of the back windscreen wiper, washer and front washers - all on the same stick. -

I weas thinking of a clio diesel? any comments on this? i have read some of the posts on the diesel/auto thing, but it mostly seems to cover large/ expensive cars thanks for your help! -
Renault Espace (1997 - 2002) - 2000 2.0 16v inlet manifold removal 15 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Hi guys, I've got an espace that has a split exhaust manifold/catalytic convertor.I order to remove the manifold,it looks like I have to remove(in order) the inlet manifold, throttle body, heat shield above exhaust manifold, then finally, the manifold itself. All bolts have been removed from the front of the inlet manifold, and two from the rear, but it steadfastly refuses to come off, although it is free to wobble about...just not come away towards the front of the engine bay.Any ideas?? -
Seat leon - Electrical probs 23 Oct 2018 (Forum)
We swapped over the inner light units to use his original units which use filament lamps. All the electrics appeared to be the same except one which fed the n/s connector for the heated screen. To get around this we again swapped over to the original small control unit from his damaged hatch. The problem now is that the inner lamp units don’t work and nor does the windscreen wiper. -

Seat adjustment advice 4 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Also the centre console on the panda protrudes and there is nowhere for your left knee to go. It may be just the car is too small, although in theory for cars 'one size fits all' it would be easier if I was only 5-7'' etc. The only car I remember that was similar was an original Mini back in the 80's where you always had a hunched driving position. -

Vauxhall Astra H (2004 - 2009) - 04 1.6 Windscreen wipers 5 Jul 2008 (Forum)
My windscreen wipers are on a 'go slow'. So slow that I do not think I can take the car out in a rain shower. Could it be the motor?
