  Can anybody tell me where the front windscreen wiper relay is located on a 1996 (The early type 306s) Peugeot 306. The wipers will not park, work on intermittent wipe or autimatically wipe when using the washers. I have checked the wiper switch which is OK.

  Hi, i have a 2002 vectra 1.8 sxi, lovely car, but the brakes have started to bind. The offside front is worse, tho it`s still affecting the nearside front. This is an intermittent problem, when get in car first thing, the brake pedal will travel to near the floor, after a couple of pumps, you can hardly touch it before having to peel your face off the windscreen.

  I do have fully comprehensive insurance but have never made a claim, I currently have the maximum 9 years. There is an excess of £60 to pay for a repaired windscreen, I do not know if that includes replacement, if I made a claim would I lose my NCB? How much would a replacement windscreen cost for my car without using my insurance?

  The third test involved a load of flat pack stacked (as most of us have probably done) on top of the seats from front to back of the car. The result of the impact was horrific - the sheets of mdf sliced into the front seats and the metal sink would probably have decapitated anyone it hit! If all this sounds overstated I should say that the test simulated an impact at only 30mph which is apparently enough to create a force of 30g!

  No matter what I clean the inside of my car's windscreen with (including Autoglym Car Glass Polish), by tne time a film has built up you can see the same old handprints and fingerprints every time. It's a replacement screen and I can only assume that the fitter had very corrosive perspiration and that it actually etched its way into the glass!

It was my first car so i need advice about which option would get me the most deposit towards a new car.

  A friend says that the washer jets on his Xsara are fan jets that spray the whole windscreen and are very good normally, but they freeze every cold spell.  He has to stop the car and squirt on water fon a plastic bottle.  Has anyone solved this problem ?

  Common place for the position of the road tax disc on the windscreen is at the bottom corner on the passenger side. I have seen some cars with the disc in the central top position near the rear view mirror. Is there a law that states where to position the road tax disc?

  The boot (once you take the rear seats out) doesn't look any bigger than a conventional estate, and the front seat cushions are a bit short (presumably to maximise the interior space). It's a swine to park, because you can't see anything forward of the base of the windscreen, and there are more blind spots behind than an old Golf.

  My car has a leak, i drove it today about 50 miles and noticed it has a leak- partner thinks its air con as it is water and i had the heating on but i dont know. When i stopped there was a good stream of water coming out from passenger front side, no warning lights wtc have come on.

  I have a Mazda Xedos 9 that has started to have an over heating problem. The car starts and runs fine until you get stuck in traffic, the temperate gauge goes up just passed the half way mark and the electric fans cut in ok but, then steam starts coming out of the front of the radiator.

  Can anyone who has replaced metal brake pipes from front to back tell me what needs removing for access to remove&refit new ones?Fuel tank,exhaust,heat shields etc??Was this possible laying under car?Probably only really needs small section at rear doing but as I have to do it myself and don`t have expensive flaring tool for steel lines then don`t know any other way .Thanks.

  This is a known weakness to Vauxhall mechanics - although not mentioned before to my knowledge on this forum, or in TIS 2000 (whereas corrosion of the aluminium cooler heat exchanger is). The leak was slight, most of the leakage must have evaporated. When parked facing downhill some coolent tended to appear on the front flange of the sump, having run forward either side of the cooler cover and run down the front of the engine either side of the water pump (I suspected the pump initially).

  Strange one this,my niece sat indoors(well inside a caravan actually)hears a big crack or noise which makes her and her b/friend jump.On going outside they see nothing that may have caused the noise.On leaving for home they discover the windscreen is cracked in the tax disc area.Seem to be no kids close by and in any case the car is quite secluded where it's parked on a very quiet caravan site.My question is could the loud bang be an implosion or explosion of the windscreen on it's own?

  I can clear the whole car of ice/snow etc by hand and still be waiting to see outside the windscreen. I have not used any sprays etc to clean the inside of the windscreen since I got the car but as it was bought used I can't guarantee much more.
