Mist forms inside the car on all windows when it has been left standing for about twenty minutes. An experienced Toyota mechanic, who did a 60,000 miles service yesterday,   20 January, confirmed that there is no water inside the car, including the boot, and that the air-conditioning filter is clear and dry.

  The cooling fan on my wife's 1.6 Focus (1.6 Zetec, 2001 Auto) starts up within about 5 seconds of switching the engine on - I have noticed this even on the coldest days. The aircon is not switched on nor does the car have a heated windscreen (as per a recent post on this subject). Is this a thermostat problem or the temp sensor ... or something else? Many thanks, Y.

  Does any one know of a cheap/reputable auto glass shop in Liverpool? My girlfriends just cracked the front windscreen on her ZX right at the bottom about 4 inches long. I guess this is going to have to be replaced but would like a clue as to what she (or more likely I) should be paying. Any advice would be appreciated.

  Hello. The windscreen washer in my Yaris recently packed up. The rear washer is fine as it has its own pump. Is it easy to replace the front washer pump as the pumps themselves are pretty cheap. I don't want to get stung with an expensive garage bill for a relatively minor problem.

    I can’t necessarily stop to operate a control, e.g. on a motorway with a sudden cold shower of rain will require me to change the heating control to stop the windscreen fogging up.   My Corsa is actually pretty good for this and the rear screen heater clears in about 1 minute which is very impressive. However sometimes the windscreen still mysts up a little bit, mainly when I have cleared it, gone to a job, got back into the car and it mysts it is only slight but enough to be ilegal to drive until I clear it. I leave the heating setting on dimist even when the ignition is off, I assume this makes the problem worse?

  The liquid coming from the windscreen washers has recently got thicker. It looks quite greasy. I take it this is probably due to lower temperatures. Does it mean I have too much screen wash in the bottle or too little? To clean the bottle out you have to remove the front bumper.
