  I can hear the relay click when i switch the dashboard switch on, which according to Haynes means that's ok? The next step is the main fuses in the engine compartment. It says there are 5 in my car, but only three are present in mine, each with a cable running off it to somewhereorother. The one involved with the heated rear windscreen doesnt seem to be present, and even if i put it in its slot there is no cable obvious to take the current away!

  The instructions say to place on the mottled area behind the review mirror otherwise the metalic coating on a heat reflectant windscreen means it will not work.However this area is taken up by the plastic housing of the City Safe sensor, so no mottled area. Another problem is I have an electrically heated windscreen again with metalic elements.

  Recently we got a large stone chip in our windscreen and ended up getting the windscreen replaced. Following this we then had cold weather and discovered the heated screen no longer works. The car manual states that a low battery can cause this to not operate, so I charged the battery.

I have checked fuse 5 (meant to be for fans and timer) and also fuse 27 (meant to be for screen itself)?

  The left hand half of my heated windescreen has failed, a few weeks out of warranty! The heated area is in two halves but there is only one fuse. As there are no "Moving parts" and nothing has been moved  or worked on in the area of the dash/switches or the screen I am at a loss to know what else I can check.

  I have recently purchased a 1.8 Zetec, its great but the heated rear screen (and mirrors) won't heat. When I press the button the light comes on but goes off straight away. There is also a click from the relay in the glovebox. I have changed the relay and the relevant fuses but it still doesn't work!

  Got viciously attacked by a stone on the m/way yesterday, leaving me with a large crack in my windscreen. Cars being what they are today, it's laminated ,heat reflecting glass with light and wiper sensors installed. The car is only two years old and I'd like to get it done through a Peugeot dealer, so there can be do arguments about honouring the warranty if problems arise.
