Rover 25 (1999 - 2005) - 2000 1.4 Front Windscreen Wipers Fault

2000 1.4 Front Windscreen Wipers Fault - iain073
I bought a Rover 25 2000 1.4 and has a fault with the front wipers. If you put them onto Intimittent they only go half across windscreen, sometimes less and then some more etc. On First setting they go Fine but when you switch them to off they stay on windscreen where they were when you turned them off immediately. They do not continue to the bottom of the screen. Can anyone help please?

There's a fault with the park circuit.

Fairly common fault and easy to fix if you do it yourself.

Easiest way is to replace the wiper motor as the circuit is inbuilt and difficult to repair. I had to replace mine on my 200 some years ago - just tried my luck at a scrappy off a late model car and has worked ever since. It cost me £5 and about 20 minutes to swap it over. Its located on the lefthand side of the bulkehead as you look into the bonnet. Sometimes come up on ebay but unless they are local pickup they can be expensive to post due to their weight.
