Instant Heat From VW - Glaikit Wee Scunner {P}
I've convinced myself that the heating system on my 2002 model diesel Passat must have some kind of auxiliary heater as standard.
When setting off from stone cold in freezing conditions, with the airflow diverted manually to the fascia vents ,I get warm air within one minute. Not so noticeable when set on Automatic as most of the air goes into the footwell and windscreen.
Do VWs indeed have some special feature?

some of the diesels have glow plugs in the hoses to the heater matrix, which kick in when its v cold outside.
