• Citroen - C4 Picasso. EGS - sticking gears, an issue or not? 12 Nov 2007 (Forum)
  Have tried feathering or booting the go pedal to no avail, end up doing 40 in 2nd......no change up. Took it in to Citroen and technicians say no fault showing, but you can expect gears to stick until car warms up. I say fiddlesticks to that. Time will tell and see if it gets worse. Any other EGS users find the same thing happening?

  Hi I have a 01 Xsara hdi 110 which has now done 122k miles, I would like to change the low pressure fuel pump (before it fails and leaves me stranded). Mine has the VDO pump, Citroen part no.1525 T4. How can I find the equivalent Peugeot part number? I know there are 3 different types of pumps fitted to the Xsara and want to be sure that I am buying the correct one and it is easier to source a Peugeot one.

  I have been told previously though that the only way to get the light to turn off is by going to a Citroen garage as a special tool is required. Is this right? if not will the light just turn off when the sensor is replaced or is there anywhere I can get a tool to turn this off myself? I need this for the MOT next week & don't want to pay over the odds if possible just for turning a light off. thanks, Sam {Subject header amended to include the problem - DD}

  After regaining control the engine continued to rev at 3 thousand revs. It?s now in the hands of the dealer and Citroen UK don?t seem all that bothered telling me it?s perfectly ok and to let them fix it under warranty. Basically im left thinking this is a pretty dangerous fault on this car I mean surely if something fails the car should stop not accelerate to whatever speed it likes. it looks like the middle of October before it returns to the road.

  hi its me again, thanks for all the advice on the oil leak problem re citroen xsara 2.0. hdi most of your advice was spot on well done all . now I wish to change the brake pads all round I have it on stands and wheels off however I left the motor trade 20yrs ago when (abs) was just begining to appear so i am not over familiar with the operation and servicing of them other than to proceed with extreme caution I only wish to change the friction material can i do this without disturbing the (abs) system and how do i proceed ?

  Hi Guys, I have a 2000 Citroen Dispatch hdi. Now and again the van goes into Limp mode when you use the turbo for more than 10 secs. I've checked the pipes leading from the turbo and all seem okay, but what i did find was a item that looks like a VTA Dumpvalve which i know aint standard on these vans.
• Citroen ZX - dipstick tube collar broken 20 Feb 2007 (Forum)
  When checking the oil level on my 1997 Citroen ZX 1.4i recently, the dipstick was a bit scrapey to withdraw. Once it was out, I noticed a broken green plastic collar, for want of a better word, near the top of the dipstick tube. This collar has, or had, a narrow rectangular cross-sectioned bore for the dipstick to pass through.

  Hello, I need to buy a new cat converter for my 1.6i citroen xsara (registered 03/99) but as there are two types - one OBD one non OBD so i am a little unsure. On the website i would buy from it says for each type; CITROEN XSARA 1.6i (not OBD, up to ChNo08147) 7/97-2/99 CITROEN XSARA 1.6i Manual (ch.no. 08148 on) 3/99-8/00 ive seen a number in the engine bay but its a long number?

  Hi folks. The coolant in our 2001 Citroen Picasso petrol 1.8sx requires topping up (only small amount after 30k, so no dramas), but am not sure which sort to use, the stuff in the header tank is clear (has usual antifreeze type smell) and my usual car parts place is unsure what I can top it off with (they said it may be organic type??).

  This is currently happening with our C5 and I have never seen any sign of it draining from there before in over 2 years. It is even draining from the sills, at times. The local Citroen dealer has been not very helpful thus far. I rang them about it last week and they suggested that I call in and get the car checked out. My wife went down there today, as she was out nearby, and they told her it was quite normal and didn't even bother to look at the car.

  My Citroen ZX Diesel (1.9D non turbo) has started to lose power, and there is quite a strong smell of diesel fumes when you drive it. I have tried some Millers injector cleaner, but this hasn't sorted the problem out.
