  • Flawed idea? 17 May 2004 (Forum)
It?s this great new form of transport. You create a vehicle with three or, more likely four or more wheels, and power it with a motor of some sort that, if it?s powerful enough, could make the vehicle travel really quite fast ?
  • Kwik Fit Oil Change/Costs/Oil Choice 13 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Not driving a F1 car (only Fiat Brava 1.4) I assume that Mobil 1 is an overkill (car 4 years old) - so imagine that Mobil Super S is the one to use! Having said that there is no mention of Mobil Super S on the Mobil UK website - only Mobil 1. Does this mean that Super S has now been replaced by Mobil 1? Anyone know anything else?
  • *Golk MK4 Vibration URGENT HELP required 17 Dec 2002 (Forum)
I took it to VW and they diagnosed it as the passenger drive side drive shaft. I?ve had it replaced but no luck. VW now say it?s the driver side drive shaft but they are only 90% sure it will cure it. If that doesn?t work they say it?s a gearbox strip. Feels like I?m just throwing money at it at the mo. Don?t want to waste any more money replacing parts that don?
  • nottingam sacks all traffic cops 22 Nov 2001 (Forum)
But they will only respond, not be on the roads as a visible deterrent to prevent people driving like idiots. Unsurprisingly, riders? clubs have attacked the plan. The BMF?s Jeff Stone said: " It?s a crazy move as cameras do nothing for road safety. We need more police on the roads, not more cameras.
  • Mondeo Faults 9 Jul 2001 (Forum)
All was fine for 48 hours, until the alarm sounded continuously for a whole afternoon (I was out, but the neighbour?s felt the need to inform me!). I check the doors, bonnet etc and couldn?t find any obvious faults. Eventually, I removed the fuse to the alarm. Next day, it won?t start ? flat battery, so that?s re-charged.

  • Mini Cooper S - Older Purchase Advice 15 Aug 2022 (Forum)
could advise on what may be ok and what is worth avoiding. I am probably looking at pre 2013 Cooper S, so the1.6 petrol with 173ish BHP as I understand that the 2.0 engines were only for post 2013 models.  Ideally I would have liked an auto but something tells me that's worth avoiding given the age of the car.
  • Toyota RAV4 - Stolen S-Max Hybrid Replacement? 9 Jul 2020 (Forum)
My S-Max Sport Titanium was stolen on Monday, so I'm looking for a replacement and thinking of going hybrid.  We already have an older Leaf, so we like electric but it doesn't have the range or capacity to suit as our main car.
  • Porsche Cayman S - Intermittent Problem with Brakes 22 Oct 2019 (Forum)
I have a Cayman S which basically has almost zero braking maybe one time in 20. On the other occasions it brakes ok. When it doesn't work properly the pedal stays firm rather than going to the floor but just doesn't slow the car down properly The front discs & pads were approaching the end of their life but there was no odd braking noises / other signs of a fundamental problem I asked the garage to check it out & change the discs & pads.
  • Renault Laguna II (2001 - 2007) - 06 2.2 remote Tyre pressure sensor 2 May 2013 (Forum)
My mate is having problems with the remote tyre pressure warnings on the dash. The dash info panel has always warned of slightly low pressure on the Front O/S tyre since he had the car. - but now seems worse. News Tyres were put on last week and now gave warning of puncture on Front O/S tyre (1.6 bar inidcated pressure). Checked pressure with 2 gauges as 2.0 bar, pumped up to 2.2 bar.
  • Audi A4 1.9 TDi S-line or Honda Accord 2.2 CDTI? 5 Dec 2011 (Forum)
The Honda Accord would be the great 2.2 CDTi in EX trim on a 57 plate so it has leather, sat nav and climate etc, whilst the Audi would be in S-Line trim with the reliable 1.9 TDI, the Audi is also on a 57 plate. I prefer the Honda looks wise and the engine is more refined and faster, but I like the badge image and style of the interior in the Audi whilst both have similar running costs.
  • Nissan Micra S 54 - Short brake pedal travel 12 Nov 2010 (Forum)
Have recently bought a Micra S 1.2 manual, 46000 on clock.  The problem I have is that the brake pedal seems to have a very short travel which means I have to slow down well in advance of junctions etc to save being propelled forward if I touch pedal too firmly.

  • well done lady texter! 22 Jun 2008 (Forum)
Nothing in front of Jag' outside lane. Brake lights come on, I ease off and for some reason now down to 45mph in o/s lane. I pull to inside lane and draw along side Jag' to see blond lady, mid 30's driving, male as pax, young child in back seat. Of course, she was texting and completely oblivious to all around her.

  • 2.2dCi MPG? 28 Apr 2005 (Forum)
I ahve just booked my Primera (new in Dec 2004) in for its 12K service on 10 May and when I rang up I asked them to take a look at the MPG - guy says "if you're getting over mid 30's you're doing well"! I told him in no uncertain terms that I would expect mid to high 40's with ease and am getting low 40's on daily 114 mile round trip commute. I used to get over 50 mpg out of my Jazz so I'm hardly heavy footed.
  • 75000 mile Type-S, what needs doing? 7 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Hi everyone, I'm now the proud owner of a Jap import Prelude Type-S (the 220bhp monster jobby). For a six year old car that's done 75000 miles it's in absolutely gorgeous condition, and the engine is amazingly sweet. (Revs out to 8000rpm without missing a beat.) It's been well looked after and the guy who's had it for the last two years has changed the oil every six months himself (using top quality fully synth oil), he's put new plugs in (the platinum tipped ones), and generally kept a close eye on it.
  • The gal done good ! 30 Sep 2003 (Forum)
It was a long time ago that I learned to drive but I don\'t think I picked up this aspect as quickly as her so all in all I thinks she\'s done very, very well so far. It\'s funny isn\'t it, how some people have a knack for certain things and I have to say she\'s very comfortable judging distances, gaps etc. so I\'m quite confident she\'ll do well and be a good safe driver.
