Toyota Landcruiser Prado 1997 - Landcruiser Prado service 1 Jun 2010 (Forum)
I have a 1997 Prado which is running fine and done just over 100,000 miles. I would like to keep this vehicle for several more years, what do I need to ask my local garage (not a Toyota specialist garage) to do at the next service to ensure its reliability into the future? -
Chevrolet Camaro (1998 'ish) - Fuel pump replaced, will not start 20 Mar 2010 (Forum)
The fuel pump failed and was replaced by access to tank gained by cutting floor. replacement pump( from the states) runs and fuel arrives at the pressure regulating valve located at the rear of the rocker cover, this is checked by breaking into the lines at the wheel well, but does not pressurise the fuel system and there is no fuel to allow the engine to fire, sounds a bit af a coincidence that the pressure regulating valve should have failed at the same time, anyone with clues or advice? -
Car choices with boot space in? 18 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Top of the list so far is the Pathfinder, a fully specced Aventura, 56/07 plate, manual, diesel. This is based on size and reasonable running costs and not too big a list of common faults. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks -
Oil wars. 15 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Wars are usually about resources and our economy runs on oil. I had always believed that the main reason we wanted to keep the Falklands was oil, the islands sit on a big shallow plateau similar to the North Sea. If there is oil there, as the price of oil increases it will become viable to extract it. -
Mazda Mazda 3 (2004 - 2009) - Mazda3 vs Focus 2 S/H ... 11 Jan 2010 (Forum)
If you do a search for problems in the Backroom for Focus, and 3, you get far more Focus ones! Of course that may be because more Focus' are sold, but still... anyone run a 3 to high mileage here like 200k ... ? -

Honda Civic UK (2001 - 2005) - 01 1.4 Hesitation in 1st gear when cold 5 Jan 2010 (Forum)
My car has a serious hesitation when pulling off after cold start in winter. If I disengage the clutch to keep the engine running, then the engine stumbles then recovers after a few seconds. It only happens in the first few minutes after starting, and once moving it pulls well in all gears. In summer the problem doesn't occur. -

Just had a (genuine) cambelt kit fitted and noticed heat from behind the top belt cover - removing this revealed excessive heat from the top sprocket and the belt run to the right felt very tight - I had only driven the car 10 miles..... I am aware the tension setting can be tricky on these - any theories on the error made? I understand this will have the early hydraulic tensioner......... -

Mitsubishi Shogun (2007 - ) - Considering.... 24 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Hi I have run and towed a 'van with a 1997 2800 TD Automatic. It has NEVER let us down. Costs have been for routine servicing (by myself) and oil/filter changes every 3000 m. Mileage is 125000. However, she's a bit dated now, no airbags/ABS and other "essential" extras. -
Ford Mondeo II (1996 - 2000) - 00 2.0 Immobiliser problem 24 Nov 2009 (Forum)
If my car has been standing for a few days and I unlock via the driver's door but open another door first, the immobiliser kicks in and I have to (fully) lock the car and wait for some sort of timer to kick in and restore my access to a running engine. Around 20-30 minutes, I guess. This doesn't happen when I've recently used the car, say shopping & opening the back. Any ideas round this? -

Computer Related Questions-Volume 200 [Read Only] 11 Nov 2009 (Forum)
I know I can vacuum my keyboard to get all the cigarette ash and so on out, but is there a way of getting the thick deposits of DNA off the edges of the lesser-used keys, and indeed the fringes of my mouse, without risking any short circuit malarkey? It's a perfectly good keyboard and I don't want to have to run another one in. I am afraid that if this goes on my computer will become a source of new and deadly viruses. Not the electronic sort, real ones. {moves to computer related questions} -

Hope you can shed some light on this one... When in 'cold mode' she runs fine with plenty of power and torque plus a smooth sounding engine. As soon as things warm up the engine becomes sluggish and noisy, under load sounding like an old sewing machine!. It'll still reach a good clip but takes sooo long to get there :-(.... -

FIAT Ducato Sevel X250 (2007 - ) - Van - 87 1.9 losing power 1 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Hi, I own a 1987 Ducato van with the 1900 engine (carburettor version) Recently it is losing power mainly on hills and seems to happen after 55 mph and the pedal is pressed a little harder. If I release the accelerator the van runs okay. The RAC have :- Cleaned the jets Cleaned the distributor cap Cleaned the plug leads Sprayed the carburettor with some sort of cleaner Ignition module was replaced recently. but the fault persists.
