Leaking radiator?? 12 Jun 2001 (Forum)
My 4 year old 306 Diesel seems to have a small problem. It is used for a relatively short run each day 5 miles each way and each day loses water from the radiator (visible on the garage floor in th evening). It appears to be coming from the overflow tube at the top next to the filling hole. -
Citreon Xsara 18i 16v 9 May 2001 (Forum)
There was some oil usage but now I am using the car for business (about 2000 miles per month) the oil consumption now appears to be high. I have run the engine in so I am assuming that the problem could be the engine design?. Any thoughts would be appreciated. -
Best tyres? 5 Apr 2001 (Forum)
I'm looking for recommendations for good tyres. They need to be available in / 195/60R15 87V. I'm currently running the Avon ZV1 which have pretty decent grip but are noisy and the ride quality is rather poor. I'm looking for tyres with good comfort / ride quality, low noise, but reasonable grip / performance in wet and dry conditions. -

audi a4 advant s line estate black edition - dpf light come on again 3 Apr 2021 (Forum)
As I have a works van and what with lockdown restrictions I still haven't really used my new car on a regular daily basis probably done less than 300 miles since I've had it As I bought it for social reasons days out etc In all honesty been wanting to give it a good motorway run for a while but reluctant due to the £200 fine of breaching lockdown ! I have been limited to just going to town & back once a week 6 mile round trip at weekend As nice to drive it after paying for it & all the expenses along with being in a works van all week After going to the local esso last week the dpf light has come on again so took it straight back home and it hasn't been driven since I have ordered some cataclean from amazon upon reading its good for the dpf Arrives 7th April and also bought some redex dpf cleaner today but could really do with advice as what to do next with the ldpf warningl ight being on I'm hearing different things searching dpf on Google etc that when the light comes on in the 1st instance the dpf is about 45% full & that passive/active regeneration needs to take place immediately hence motorway run 30 mins I'm also hearing the dpf wants cleaning at this point & take it in to the garage I'm kicking myself now and aren't without negligence doing local runs once a week I know As I don't want to cause any damage to the vehicle all opinions and advice is greatly appreciated Cheers [Moved to Technical forum as it sits better there - Xileno, moderator] -

Mazda 6 TS TD 143 - Major problems with my used car, my rights? 14 May 2012 (Forum)
However, the engine arrived and was not complete so all my parts had to be transplanted to the new (nearly new) engine. This process took several weeks. When it was finally done it wouldn't run on its own and after another few weeks of diagnostics it was taken to the nearest Mazda dealership who got it running by reprogramming the ECU. The car was finally running again two weeks ago. -

VW Polo 1.2 2002 - Polo failed MOT on high CO 16 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Hi all. Got a problem with my wife's car, and thought I'd run it past you. The car's a 2002, 52 plate 1.2 65bph 3cylinder VW Polo. A few years back the coolant sensor failed, leading to the engine managment light (MIL) to come on. This was fixed, and it was fine until about 2 years ago. -

When all is said and done, we don't want to give the car up because we know the service history and that it is in perfect running condition. Do they have to sell the car back to us? How much would we expect to pay? Can they refuse to sell it back to us? Or can we just drop the whole claim altogether and remain insured as before and just do the repairs ourselves? -

Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 03 1.1 damage to door - write-off 27 Aug 2009 (Forum)
First, some background. My girlfriend owns an 03 206 3 door hatchback which has done 33k miles and is running really well. Cheap to run and insure. It is parked nearby our house on the road overnight. However over the past 2 years there have been a numerous incidents which have damaged the car: a) Someone kicked the near-side wing in (new wing, repaired - claimed on insurance in Feb this year -- insurance renews every July) b) Someone walked over the car one Friday night about 3 weeks ago, denting the bonnet and flimsy 206 roof. c) This morning, one of our neighbours drove into the near-side door, denting it noticeably but not breaking the paint and exposing a ridge which I assume to be the side impact protection. -
Chrysler PT Cruiser: what it's like 16 Aug 2009 (Forum)
K&N air filter might be another sensible change. The car runs quietly enough, although not silently, but will only pick up its skirts and hustle along with a fair amount of foot. A zipmobile it isn't, but a couple more horses and cleaner running could reduce its thirst while sweetening its driveabilty.
