Is Castrol Valvemaster fuel additive still available? 24 Apr 2018 (News)
.’ Fuel additives like Valvemaster were designed for use in classic vehicles that were made to run on leaded petrol – mostly cars built before 1992. Without the addition of lead in the petrol, enthusiasts were concerned that the valves seats would suffer from recession. However, because of the low mileages (and light use) that many older vehicles enjoy, this seems to have been much less of a problem than many predicted. -

Jobs still left to do include repairing the driver’s side wing and driver’s door. According to the seller, ‘The other door’s not perfect but it is in repairable condition.’ We’re told the passenger side wing is solid, but also has a dent in. -

Despite that, the new owners have failed to stem the tide of losses and are now looking to recoup £1.9bn. At present it costs £5.50 for a car to use the road during a weekday, or £11 for an HGV. But despite the road stretching 27 miles from Coleshill to Cheslyn Hay, the distance driven makes no difference to the amount charged. Road users and campaigners have suggested various ways of improving the M6, from scrapping the toll altogether (an obvious improvement for drivers), to restructuring the charges to a ‘pay per mile’-type system, similar to those used across Europe. -

Addison Lee Adopts Michelin Only Tyre Policy 24 Jun 2014 (News)
Until recently Addison Lee used mid-range tyres on its 4,700 vehicles, but after testing Michelin tyres on eight cars, including a Ford Galaxy and Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Fleet Manager Rob Daniels has implemented a full Michelin policy. Mr Daniels said: “We were getting at least eight per cent longer from the Michelins than any others – that’s a difference of 10,000 miles on our Galaxy and even more on the S-Class. -
Jaguar Land Rover to open factory in Brazil 6 Dec 2013 (News)
Jaguar Land Rover has announced the creation of a new production facility in Brazil. It will become the first British car manufacturer to set-up a facility there, and it follows a landmark agreement between the company and state authorities to build the new plant in the State of Rio de Janeiro. An agreement paving the way for construction of the plant has been signed by Phil Hodgkinson, Global Business Expansion Director of Jaguar Land Rover, and Sergio Cabral, State Governor of Rio de Janeiro. -
