Amazon's Alexa to be integrated into new BMW and MINI 28 Sep 2017 (News)
Want to check the traffic, add items to your shopping list or make an appointment while in your car? Well that will soon be a reality as Alexa, Amazon's voice control assistant, will soon be integrated into BMW and MINI vehicles. A mazon's Alexa, the voice assistant in their successful Echo device, will be available on all BMW and MINI models from mid-2018, although it's not clear whether it will be standard fit or optional yet. -

Cost of petrol and diesel falls 5 Jun 2017 (News)
The reduction in the cost of petrol means that the driver of an average family car - like the Ford Focus- with a 55-litre tank can now fill up for £1 less than in April. It's even better news for diesel, which can now fill up for an average of £1.40 less than earlier in the year. -
DB5 makes £561,500 at Bonhams Aston sale 15 May 2017 (News)
1961 Aston Martin DB4 ‘Series III’ Sports Saloon Project made £225,500. But what about that 1996 Aston Martin V8 Sportsman estate? The car was one of only three created, and was originally converted in to its shooting brake format at the Aston Martin Works. It sold for £300,000. Bonhams 18th annual Aston sale saw a total of more than £5,000,000 achieved overall. -
Ferrari apprentices go back to the old school 16 Mar 2017 (News)
Ferrari is to offer its next-generation of apprentices more training on Maranello’s classic models. School-leavers aged 16 to 19 will be given more in-depth training on classic car technology to help ensure they’re well-equipped to help keep the marque’s rich heritage on the road. Training will be given on ballast resistor ignition systems and magneto ignition systems both single and twin. Students will also learn about dynamo charging systems, twin points distributor set ups, as well as setting up multiple carburettors and mechnical fuel injection. And, as you’d expect from a course on classic Ferraris, there will be plenty of hands-on learning with straight cut dog mesh gearboxes. -
Impreza 22B STi makes £73k at auction 31 May 2016 (News)

BMW Group seeks 30 UK apprentices 28 Jan 2016 (News)
BMW Group is looking for 30 apprentices to join teams at three sites around the UK – the MINI Plant in Oxford, the Hams Hall Plant near Birmingham, where engines for MINI and BMW cars are produced and the Swindon Plant, where sub-assemblies and stampings for MINI models are made. Candidates will work alongside experienced BMW employees across a range of roles, including engineering, maintenance, IT, finance and logistics. The 30 new arrivals will join 224 existing apprentices and will gain an NVQ level three qualification over a period of three to four years. -

Rare Ferrari prototypes to lead the 2015 Goodwood Revival 27 May 2015 (News)
It’s set to be one of the headline events of a packed schedule at this year’s Revival – the world’s biggest car-based period fancy dress party. Quite niche, true. Taking place 11 – 13 September this year, the show will also host a Freddie March Memorial Trophy as the regular Friday ‘into the night’ race, in homage to the ninth Duke of Richmond – grandson of Lord March and the man responsible for bringing motorsport to Goodwood, after inheriting the estate in 1935. -
Volkswagen shows GTE Sport extreme plug-in hybrid 15 May 2015 (News)
This year’s event coincides with the 40 th anniversary of the Golf GTI, so the Golf GTE Sport is one of two GTI-themed show debuts, the other being the Golf GTI Clubsport. That car – which Volkswagen has not released an official picture of – will get 265PS with a short-term overboost function for an additional ten per cent power, a distinguishing body kit, and bucket racing seats as standard. -

RAC calls for changes in private parking charge law 20 Feb 2015 (News)
