  • Nissan X-Trail (2001 - 2007) - 2003 How do you adjust the handbrake? 14 Apr 2008 (Forum)
A cursory glance shows that it appears not to operate on the main pads - if someone can tell me how it works, that's even better, because it's stopped working suddenly as if something had failed. The car is a left-hand drive diesel if that makes any difference
  • Isuzu D-Max Rodeo Denver (2003 - ) - Beam converters 23 Mar 2008 (Forum)
But my lights (Isuzu D-Max 2008) are those funny ones like a Ford Puma - clear lens, no reflector, and the bulb sits behind a sort of round glass ball. So how do I convert them for driving on the left? I spoke to Isuzu here and they didn't seem to understand what I was talking about.
  • Australian Speeding Tickets 21 Mar 2008 (Forum)
One from a mobile camera and the other from a Gatso. Neither picture they have sent shows who is driving and there were 2 authorised drivers in the hire car. How do I stand if I ignore these? I don't intend to visit Oz again but I don't know what action they may take in UK if I don't pay. Postman Pat
  • Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - 1997 1.9 TDI stalls after a mile - then starts 2 Mar 2008 (Forum)
I don't quite understand whats happening, the car starts straight away (from cold) I drive it for a few minutes and then it dies. Drop it into gear turn the key and it starts? The mechanic ran it through the computer and no faults. Has anyone had expereince of this before? Is it a choke thing, or is there a sensor that senses temperature that needs cleaning?

  • Two sets of tyres? 6 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Seeing the postings about driving in snow remeinded me that others have previously reported how poor "summer" tyres are at temperatures below 6 or 7C. Given our relatively snow and ice-free winters, can it really be worth owning TWO full sets of tyres, one for summer and one for winter?

  • Anyone buy on finance and return it after 3 years? 31 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Hi Looking at whether its worth me doing the type of deals where you buy a car on finance for 3 years, and then return it to them. Cars I am considering inc Suzuki Vitara - as they are doing 0% credit. I currently drive a old Pajero - done me well, but thinking now I fancy a nice bit of creature comforts and wondered if anyone does what I am thinking. Any advice appreciated. Scott

  • Crash - false details supplied. 18 Jan 2008 (Forum)
A colleague was crashed into on an approach to a roundabout, by the car behind. The person driving the car which crashed into my colleague's wrote down her name, address, post-code, and registration number. My colleague photographed the scene. It has been found that the name, address, and post-code were falseified (no such post code/road).
  • Contacting the Police from motorways 30 Dec 2007 (Forum)
On many a journey, especially on a motorway, I have witnessed dangerous driving, poor loading on lorries and debris on the carriageway. Why can't the police have a direct emergency number to their traffic controls. Calling 999 clogs up the system and 9 times out of 10 you are put on hold.
  • America loses learner driver details. 18 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Just saw on the news that a huge lot of peoples driving details have been lost over in the states, also in Ireland not long ago too. Is it me, or does this sound a bit fishy, I mean c'mon, the governments have got to be up to something haven't they. All the info that was lost contains names, addresses, e-mail addresses e.t.c.

What would be a reasonabe asking price (spares or repair ) for a 2001 Golf Mk4 1.6 S with 119000 on the clock, FSH but with NSF damage which is wheel, wing, suspension, drive shaft, wishbone, windscreen, airbags deployed, A frame probable damage where wheel battered into frame. • Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - '97 1.25 Zetec engine - Power Steering or not ? 17 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Hi We bought this car yesterday and we were under the impression that it had power steering but it doesn't appear to. On driving it feels like it does, but on parking and manoeuvring it's really heavy The ad said it had power steering and we've had a look under the bonnet and can't see any obvious reservoir - should this model have it?
