  The BMW i know is okay, as i used to run a 328i some years back and averaged 30mpg. Also. BMWs tend to make the driving experience feel special. any comments \ thoughts \advice most welcome

  It is a 1600cc Look in metallic grey and was registered December 2006 (one owner from new). It has done 5000 miles (currently on a SORN as she has stopped driving). Located south-east London.

  hi last night i was driving and smoke started coming from the dashboard. i had a look around and realised it was comin from the fuses under the steering wheel. i felt it to see if they were warm and one of the relays were boilin. it was all melted and the motherboard was sparking up. i had to kick it off before it went up in flames. i think this happened because of the demister, any ideas how to fix it?

  hi, got a hyundai accent 1999. starts ok but very quickly starts to surge and hesitate making driving virtually impossible. took it to local garage who code read it and there scanner came up with fault codes 81 and 82 which relate to air/fuel. ran engine with machine attached and the air/fuel mixture was at 100%. anybody got any ideas where to start looking for the problem?

  hi there new to this forum stuff so forgive if a go on a bit! basicly while on a long and dull motorway drive the turbo stopped working no strange bangs or smoke etc.. just no turbo . found somewhere to stop did usual looksie nothing obivous started her back up and hey presto working turbo! is at an omen for worst things to come?

  Just recently, every now and again, after a long journey, when stopping, enering an urban area for example, when I set off again after putting into Neuteral, it thumps into gear and not sooth like it does at a higher speed. It doesn't seem to do it when the engine is cold, or if I drive short distances, any ideas guys?

  Car parked on sloping drive facing downhill when engine just cut out. Recovery man simply wheeled car onto level bled the fuel line and off we went. He claims that he had a number of such incidents and it was to do with the low fuel level ( there was 22litres in the tank)and the car on an incline which caused the engine to gulp air.

  Toying with the idea of buying a cheap, small runabout for the wife to learn to drive. Why is it that, when looking through Autotrader and spotting something suitable, usually it's a mobile number? Part time trader or seller has something to hide? It just puts me off completely, or am I being over cautious?

  Not so pronounced when turning right but still there. Wheel bearings all okay, as is ( visible check) drive shafts. HELP

  hi. when driving and only steering to the right direction i would get this problem, a slight vibration and sound, and only recently when braking to a stop i would get a squeaky noise, sounding like brake pad wear. can you point me in the right direction please!.

  I have just bought a cheap and cheerful Astra F which drives superbly apart from clocks from the o/s front end. I have jacked up the car and nothing is loose and I suspect the fault is with the suspension bushes. Are these similar to the escort orion lower suspension arm where you just replace the whole item and are these known to be troublesome on the cars?

  I have had a good offer from my local Toyota dealer on an Aygo that he has in the Showroom. The offer is on par with the recent Drive The Deal Toyota offers. Should I buy now or negotiate a January delivery/registration so that it is a 2009 car? The dealer says registering it in December will make very little difference to its value in 3 years time (but he would, would'nt he!)

  As the government are trying to drive people out of gas guzzlers and 4x4s by way of punitive taxation, and trying to persuade us to buy zero emission shopping trollies, I find it rather odd that VOSA and "Traffic Officers" AKA Wombles are clocking up thousands of miles on motorways every year in the very same gas guzzling 4x4s, financed by you and me...the taxpayer.

  I was driving in some seriously heavy rain today when my glow plug light flashed on and off and eventually stayed on. In the manual it says this is an electrical fault. Everything is working okay. What could this be?

  At what point do people give up and decide that the car is hopelessly over-priced - when similar versions, 5 years younger, are chaper? And then what do they do? Or will it sit on the drive, SORNed for months?

  My other half has a 307 SW 2.0 SE Auto. registered as a UK import (new) in April 2004, we bought it in 2006 Super car, lovely to drive, all the fancy Gizmos work (touch wood). It's coming up to 40,000 miles. I assume it has a timing belt, so should we get this changed at the next service?

  First impressions are favourable. Very well put together, nice finish and comfortable seats. We didn't have time to go for a test drive as we were on our lunch break but we will book one in the New Year when the i-Shift is out to see what that is like.

  Mondeo w reg auto ghia x. Handbrake warning light on dash comes on sometimes when driving. When on I have noticed that the light on the TCS swich does not light up when pressed. When the handbrake warning light on the dash is off then the light on the TCS swich will come on when pressed.

  I have just purchased a 54 reg Bora 1.9 TDi SE (100hp) after driving the car for 15 mins the ESP warning light comes on and stays on. I have pressed the ESP switch on the dashboard but the only way I have found to turn it off is to switch ignition off and restart.

  I have driven many cars this year be it hire cars for business or test drives for a new car. I did not find one that was as satisfying to hold as that fitted to my ageing Rover 400. They are either too thin, too smooth, have uncomfortable stitching or do not allow a good hand position.
