  We drive to Spain every year with 3 kids and use a cool box in the boot 12v socket, various  extensions for DVD players etc off the passenger 12v socket, and use the driver 12v Socket for the ssanav and travel kettle.

  It appeared to be coming from the back of the engine compartment, I couldn't see the exact source. I'd had the air-conditioning on the whole time I was driving, could this be related to the dehumidifying properties of the air-con? Thanks Mike

  On returning a hire car to the depot, driving along a motorway, a huge lump of metal fell off the back of a lorry, creating a small dent in the front bumper and pushing the plastic grill through. Returning to the depot, I pointed out the damage to the attendant.

  I have a rover 25 2.0td and the other day I was driving along when all of a sudden I couldn't change down into another gear. I found that when the car was running, I couldn't put it into gear, yet if the ignition was off, I could change gear easily. Tried it again today, week after all this happened, and it changes ok even with the engine running alltho I didn't want to risk pulling off.

  Hi recent,y bought ford mondeo 2003 2.0 tdci 157000 miles, yrs m.o.t, drives well but funny rattling sound and lots of black smoke and if rev hard or fast glo light flashes and sometime it makes the car lose power completely.. Had oil, air and furl filter changed, but still does same...

  Think the thermostat needs changing as the temperature only climbs a bit on hills. Where is the thermostat? Not got a handbook or manual yet. Any free downloads around? Drives very nicely but a bit pre distressed bodyworkwise.Watch this space.

  Hi can anyone help me, my daughter was driving home last night and it started raining and her window screen wipers just stopped working for no reason they are now half way up the window screen and will not turn on but the back window wiper is working?

  Whilst driving today, my cars ABS/Handbrake light both came on and stayed on.  The speedo stopped working and the dash display screen is not giving info and just shows ' ----- '. I have tried finding an obvious fault online and nothaving much luck.

  New to the board so be nice, At Aprils end I'll have £5500 max to get a decent second hand car & trading in my 03 corsa along with it, ( so looking at £6k -£6.3k range) Currently driving 11-12k per year, Am I best with a diesel?   my van runs fine but sometimes the EDC light comes on i loose all power  the van then stops there is no warning this is going to happen it can be at roundabouts on junctions or even when i am just going down the road as soon as it happens if i remove the key an restart van it goes on as if nothing has happened  until it does it again ! i feel the van is not safe to drive so any ideas would be wellcome

  Recently had auxillery belt replaced, is there any wiring near that could have been damaged . Can drive the car using the key. Everything connected to the generic control module not working and cannot get the module into service mode. Checked all fuses in engine fusebox, but not in the glove compartment one.

  help i am loseing alot of water coolant have changed cap have replaced header tank only lose water when car running have had head gasket checked passed temp gauge never shows engine over heating but after an hour of driving when lift bonnet  you can hear water boiling and cannot take cap off for about 24 hours because of pressure

  But I thought I'd go the whole hog and tape over the entire grille and see how long it took for the coolant to completely heat soak. (I have a non-buffered temperature gauge so this is quite safe). Mixed brisk drive, some motorway, mainly A roads. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to how many miles it took to overheat?

  hi,i would like to find out,i left my lights on one night,and my battery ran down,i then pushed the car to get it started to charge the battery while i drive,anyways now my  esp light stays on and my altenator,is there anyway i can switch it of because i ran test on everything and its ok,just need to switch the lights of,how do i do that?

  I'm about to buy a 2001 X Mk3 Mondeo, right hand drive and UK registered, however when I did a HPI it came up as a 'Ford 12M 15M'. I remember Taunus (Ford of Germany) did a range known as the M from 1952 until around 1971 but the Taunus name ceased to be used in 1994.

  the other night i was on the motorway and when took my foot of the accelerator pedal the engine took ages to slow down,this happend for the whole time,when i got into the town and stopped at a set of lights the engine stayed at about 1500 revs for about 5 secs then slowed to idle this happend for the whole journey and also there was lack of power.the car seems to drive o.k continousley for an hour then seems to lose power please can anyone help?

  hi ,my citroen picasso when starting from cold is lumpy and smoking ,not running on all 4 cylinders .once ive rev it a couple of times it clears and drives fine .the error code is p11351 .glow plug relay fault.can you tell me where the glow plugs are ,and is it them thats faulty or the relay.thanks ray.

  i have had it pluged in twice and they say there are no fault codes. it say's intermittent starting blocked ecu! please help its driving me mad!!!
