  evening all i brought a march 2007 diesle saab on the 20/10/10 with 32435 miles from a used car dealer. had the car inspected today after a noise developed and been told the dual mass flywheel is on its way out. the car is now on 34742 miles. where do i stand on getting this repaired by the seller  under this 3 month warranty ???

  Being that the ABS is a safety related equipment, do they have a responsibilty to change this? I hope they will honour what they say, as i just had to prove the car has a full service history (i bought it used) i've got all the proof but the last company who serviced it on two occasions didn't right exactly what part they used...My local VW dealer is teling me that my chances are slim that warranty pay for it because the services dont mention if they were VW parts of not but the garage told me it was out of warranty at that time but they used parts that match up to exactly what VW will use....that shouldn't cause a problem should it?

  I purchased a used car from a dealer. I had to buy remotely, so asked him to confirm that car had no issues - which he did.  3 weeks in, I gave car for a service and to change cambelt. Mechanic called to say that there is a 'big' leak of oil.

  My car is still under its manufacturer's warranty and I need the brake pads replacing on the front and possibly rear.  I am pretty reluctant to pay inflated dealer prices but have read conflicting statements as to whether using non-OEM pads (for example) would invalidate the manufacturer's warranty.

  We have a 10 plate Pug 3008, 16THP Exclusive, Petrol (the joint BMW/PSA engine).  We love the car, and another day I might write up a review on it, but thats not the topic of this posting Topic is warranty The car has suffered 3 breakdowns in the 18 months we have owned it (bought it on approved used scheme 1 year old from Peugeot).

  Hello, My wife drives the old style 'A' MB. The car was taken by MB today and returned with it service book duly stamped for the ''A'' service. What concerns me that the MB main dealer did not use Mobil 1 as stipulated in their 'warranty policy statement' but used another brand of Mobil.

  Hi, A car covered by the Vauxhall 100,000 Lifetime Warranty.... I understand it has to be serviced by the dealer, but do you have to pay for this, or is it included and as such free? A 2011 used Vauxhall I'm thinking of buying privately, has a full dealer service history until the last one a month ago.

  I recently purchased a VW Golf Mk5 in early october 2009. I picked it up from a local independent dealer who works from a home office, and offered a car in part exchang. When I picked the car up visited his home office, and I know he's a legitimate dealer. It also came with a 1 year warranty from a major warranty supplier that a lot of car dealers use.

  I assume what happens is that provided the car is within age and mileage limits the dealer can pay for a 'Used Approved' warranty and market the car as such (for an increased price, naturally) and that the people who 'check, check and check again' is in fact the dealer.

  I bought a used Jaguar X type just under 3 months ago and I was given a 3 month warranty with it. The Clutch on the car has now failed which is covered by the warranty however the garage are saying that they cannot do the work under warranty because the car has done more than 3000 miles since I bought it.

  Hi, I am looking at buying a nearly new (08/58) car probably either a Mazda5 or Toyota Verso. In both cases the best spec/mileage/options that I can find are at independent garages rather than franchise. If I buy used from a non-approved retailer do I get the balance of the manufacturer's warranty (assuming for arguments sake that there is a full service history)?

  Hi Im looking for a bit of advice on documentation. I purchased an extended warranty along with my used car in feb and to date I have not had any documentation saying that I have this warranty, only thing I have is on the sales invoice. Despite repeated requests to the garage I bought it from, and the head office of the group, I have met a brick wall.

    The mechanic thinks it's "lack of use". Kia warranty says nothing about minimum mileage or lack of use, and apparently calipers are supposed to last the life of the vehicle. What should we do? Pay up? Go see a dealer?  Any advice will be much appreciated!

  The VW dealer I use claim that VW only provide a warranty on shock absorbers for 6000 miles from new. No, that is not a typo that is genuinely a tenth of the normal mileage warranty. Needless to say both my front shockers are leaking at 51K miles and 2.5 years old and VW have refused to replace them under warranty.

  Honda has a good name for reliability and could surely go to at least 5 years. It would be a very attractive reason for buying their cars. Do I recall correctly reading here at some point that in the US car warranties are much longer than those in Europe?
