SAAB 9-3 Convertible - warranty - lordloopy

evening all

i brought a march 2007 diesle saab on the 20/10/10 with 32435 miles from a used car dealer. had the car inspected today after a noise developed and been told the dual mass flywheel is on its way out. the car is now on 34742 miles. where do i stand on getting this repaired by the seller under this 3 month warranty ???

thanks in advance

It may be fixed under the warranty - if the warranty covers it - otherwise you may have a claim under the Sale of Goods Act.

In either case you cannot just go ahead and have repairs undertaken. You need to go back to the selling dealer and explain the problem and see what he suggests.

good morning lucy

thanks for the reply. have spoke to the dealer this morning and he says sale of goods act only covers me for 30 days ?????. he was very evasive about this ??? the car has a full saab history so would i stand any chance with saab itself ????

Sale of Goods Act potentially applies for six years - although making a successful claim gets much stickier after 6 months.

The claim is against the selling dealer not against Saab.
