Any - Poor breakdown service - Missing the obvious 4 Feb 2020 (Forum)
My wife's car wouldn't start this morning. Annoying as the new owner is due to collect it tomorrow. Given that I didn't want to mess about so she called Britannia, her breakdown service. She has comprehensive cover, last used about 15 years ago when they were excellent. -

If only everything in life was as reliable as ... 22 Jul 2011 (Forum)
On the way home down the M6 and M1 on Friday I spotted two Passats and one Golf - all 57-58 reg on the hard-shoulder – presumably fuel injector failures? The only other breakdown I spotted was a Peugeot 306 - although I should probably discount 10+ year old cars from the stats. On the way up this morning I thought I'd see if this was a coincidence - amazingly I spotted another two Passats and one Golf! -

Banking on breakdown cover 18 Aug 2008 (Forum)
interesting and salutory experience of a driver in one of the weekend papers' Money sections... She had breakdown cover (Green Flag's roadside assistance) "free" as part of paying for a "premium" bank acct. On way home from Wiltshire to home in Wales car died, stranding her on on M4 hard shoulder. She phoned Green Flag, told 'em she was 23 miles from the Severn Bridge on English side. -
Ford S-MAX (2006 - ) - Tyre goo 4 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Bought an S-max. I like it, however in keeping with lots of modern cars there's no spare, just goo and a compressor. Have been thinking that this will be a real pain if I do get a puncture, and I think ruins a possibly repairable tyre. Does anyone know if there are any tyre breakdown services for non fleet users? -

Any - Top 10 Most reliable hatcbacks....are you sure? 11 Jun 2018 (Forum)
Just scrolled through this Top Ten on the homepage. Full of VW, Ford, VX, etc and not one Japanese car listed. I assume the underlying methodology is based on claims made. Cars without claims therefore are excluded and cars with infrequent but larger costs are judged "unreliable". Meanwhile those that breakdown more frequently, but are cheap to repair, are judged "reliable". -
Do not sign for auto renewal of breakdow 9 May 2007 (Forum)
That time of year again - Breakdown Cover - Covered by a Large Insurance Co you get directly to and their premium for 2 cars was £120 (in round figures) including No call out discount for 8 years = 15%. so base premium is £143 Got a quote from the same company (flying a different Flag) @ £92.40 in a 25% New Policy Discount =£124 Gross- so the red telephone is more expensive than the Green Flag by £19.
