  Hi   I have a Mazda 6 diesel 53 plate that cuts out every now and then from start up. No warning just complete loss of power. I am not keen on paying the garage to have a look as no warning lights or any warnings what so ever.

  I see the recommended oil for my son's Mazda 6 diesel is Dexelia - but is there an equivalent? I dare say it costs one arm and one leg from a main dealer so I'm looking for a better priced equivalent. Any ideas? Thanks Robin the Technician

  My cooling fan has started to keep turning fast after the engine has been turned off. As I have not noticed this before I am wondering if there is a problem.......My car is a mazda 2 Sport...and I am not particularly technican being both female and senior......anyone help??????

  Hi  I recently posted about the reliability of the Honda Jazz Auto and people suggested the post 2011 models are the best option. I've also seen that Mazda 2 has been suggest on many posts as a good alternative to the Jazz. Has anyone got any advice on the Mazda 2 automatic please? Should I be looking for a particular model from a particular year or is it all much of a muchness.

  Previously on this forum I got excellent information when my diesel engine in my mazda 6 blew up after 6 months. Anyway, the pain continues. The steering rack has started leaking. From what I've been told it has to be replaced as a unit. Mazda's price for the part ?1,600 + VAT in a Irish dealer.

  Took the (out of warranty) car to my local garage last week and asked a mechanic to drive it, as I was convinced there was a problem. He confirmed this. The car has done 34,000 miles.  Went back to Watford Mazda who gave it the onceover again, accepted that there was a problem and contacted Mazda UK. Diagnosis... it needs a new gearbox. I was expecting the usual hassle/argument.... but no.  Mazda UK will replace the gearbox next week under warranty, at no charge.

  Apparently even the Mazda 3 suffers from this, and particulalry viciously in the US and Canada. Wonder whether Mazda as a company has poor manufacturing practices, in this regard? I also notice that Mazda had a 6 year corrosion guarantee on the Mazda 6 till 2005, then increased it to 12 years from 2006.

  I have 2008 mazda 6 sport,I have a problem with the boot opening by itself when i am driving or parked. has anybody else had this problem, As the dealer says they have not had this problem before, they are going to replace the lock first, to see if this corrects the problem,any ideas???

  hi good people.   my dads 2003 mazda 6 was cutting out at idle for a few months then 1 day it wouldnt start. after some research and recommendations i replaced the scv unit on the fuel pump this has not solved the problem car still wont start has anyone else came across this   thanks for looking

  I am looking at getting a 1.5lt Mazda 2 automatic but am worried whether there will be adequate performance with the auto box. Has anyone here got any experience with this? I had always thought that you really needed to have at least 2lt to pull an autobox but maybe that has changed with modern designs.

  Review sites generally acclaim it as having the best drive among large family cars, and on par with the Mondeo. I haven't heard much about rust issues with the Mazda 6 2nd gen cars. That seems to have been fixed. Another point about this car, is that Mazdas don't have a service book. They maintain a digital service record of services done at Mazda. So it's very difficult to ascertain whether a car has a full service history,  as used car dealers rarely have the actual invoices of services done, if it is done outside the Mazda network....

  Any views on the latest 6 diesel engine vs. the petrol? there's a lot of noise online about Mazda diesel engine prolems but do these woes apply to the latest generation? I do around 12k mile per year, mostly motorway. The latest 2.0 petrol Mazda motor seems a sensible alernative, with great economy.

  My car was in for a service yesterday and I took the opportunity to test drive the new Mazda 3 while I was there. Ticks all the boxes for me so I will be giving this car some serious consideration later this year. However, the revelation of the day was the courtesy car which was the previous (just replaced) Mazda 3.

  I looking to change cars in the next 18 months Ive never had a Mazda before, but the 175bhp engine in the upcoming CX-5 looks really good on paper.The only issue i see is the car may be too light to tow my 1556kg caravan.What do readers think to Mazda reliability and dealers in the S.Yorkshire area.
