BCA and Manheim auction reports for July 2010 11 Aug 2010 (News)
BCA's latest Pulse report shows that demand for older, lower value dealer part-exchange cars is largely unchanged in July, but the fleet and lease sector has experienced more price pressure. In broad terms, however, the headline average used car value was relatively static in July, with overall volumes, model mix and demand levels similar to those seen in June. -
Big Stuff at Blackbushe Today 23 Jan 2004 (News)
I figure there may be a bit of levelling out taking place over the next few weeks, so while Monday’s Top Car sale will contain quite a few cars owned by traders taking a chance, if they don’t get some sort of return by the end of the day they could let their last cars go at a loss. And, of course, there will also be plenty of fresh cars in the sale, so well worth a visit. -

A Grand Monday: Ford Sierra Mk1 7 Sep 2015 (News)
Yet despite its humble underpinnings (live rear axle, rear-wheel-drive and Pinto engine), there’s no denying that the slippery Sierra was one of the cars that truly redefined the direction of car design. It was imitated by many and bettered by quite a few, but that doesn’t alter the fact it was the first mainstream car to properly step away from the traditional ‘three-box’ layout that had become the norm, and for that it sparked a design revolution. -

Prices All Over The Place At Auction Today 11 Oct 2002 (News)
When you get traders telling you that prices for the same car can vary by £1,000 one day to the next you know the market is on the edge of a cliff. On the one hand, traders are still buying to firm orders. On the other, cars are simply going to the highest bidder and vendors are glad to get them gone. -
Scramble for Cars at Auction Today 24 Jul 2002 (News)
Last week’s warning turned out to be about a week premature. And Blackbushe today was flooded with private punters anxious to buy a car either for the holidays or instead of them. So, while there were still plenty of cheapies, there were also more than a few bidding battles taking cars well above the money the trade was prepared to pay. -
Curios: Modified London taxis 24 Jan 2014 (News)
The conversion – handled by WN’s limousine-and-hearse division, Coleman Milne – involved rehanging the rear doors so that they were forward-hinged, and then adding a further pair of forward-hinged doors, as well installing an extra row of seats in the retrimmed rear compartment. The car gained some exposure ferrying special guests to and from the 1986 British Motor Show but no further examples were built, presumably due to the high costs involved in comparison to the production cars which Coleman Milne were used to converting. -

Second Preview Brightwells Classic Car Auction, Leominster, Wednesday 26th November 18 Nov 2014 (News)
The speed was necessary in order to transport things like complex ice cream gateaux across the North Yorkshire Moors to a hotel at Robin Hood’s Bay before the cake melted, but the narrow width of the car was also very handy in Scarborough traffic where it would nip through motorcycle sized gaps. Unfortunately Brightwells car has the rather weedier 848cc A Series engine and needs some light recommissioning, part of which, may I suggest, could be a 1,275cc engine. -
