    The number of recalls that Toyota are making at the moment should surely be a major concern to anyone that is thinking of buying one. The latest recall is for 4000 cars in the UK - Lexus IS250 & GS350 - and requires 3.5 hours of work to replace faulty fuel pipes that are leaking fuel into the engine bay. OK so strictly speaking these are Lexus and not Toyota but they are the same Company.

    Please please quickly suggest alternatives, but she does not fancy the sensible Berlingo and clone HDI route, but Lexus build quality with versatile and boxy accommodation, which rules out A4 avants and their ilk. Fuel consumption is not really an issue as she only drives 12k miles pa.

To set the standard for this performance they were pursued by the class leading hot rod ? a Lexus 400 driven by the new racing driver female in the show. The aim of the pursuit was to beat the Lexus to an aircraft for the getaway. This was followed by the cars driven over speed bumps at 25mph; the measure for success here was how much champagne was spilt, and lipstick smudged, by the rear seat occupants.
