• vw 2.8 vr6 - vw 2.8 vr6 oil cooler hoses 13 Dec 2020 (Forum)
     the reason i ask it that i have just removed the oil cooler and the hose from the crack pipe is on the left (looking from front of car) yet on the vw parts diagram it is shown as the right hose?  it has been running like that for a couple of years

  Hi everyone, I cannot figure out what I need to put a roof box onto our car.  The fitted racks run the whole length of the roof and each one has what appears to be two fixing fixing points, which are two holes a few centimetres apart, front and rear. What sort of fitting do I need to get for a roof box , please?

  It drives very nicely and  does mid 40's to a gallon, very comfortable and easy to see out of which wasn't the case with the slk. Had a major service from the main dealers before I got it but after the warranty year runs out it will my trusted indie looking after it.

  Now 11 months, still satisfied, no further compaints, after 3 fill ups on Tesco momentum, shell v power, a noticeable improvement in fuel economy when on a "run", about 8% on my pifometer.... Due a service in December, so will go to the excellent Kerridges.. Off to see a UK spec MG HS shortly, but not on my future list...   If you stop and try again straight away, it fires up fine. No error codes or warning lights. Battery is good. Car runs fine otherwise. Seems totally intermittent - regardless of wether engine is hot or cold, and damp weather etc. Any ideas what I can check?

    She's rather timid, so a car with a low lip and a flat floor is essential.  The Ford focus estate seems a good contender. We tend to buy new/nearly new and run the car for 8-10 years, so long term reliability is a factor. Are the days of Ford's ecoboost problems now history, or should I be wary?
• Mk4 V5 Golf - Cuts out when driving won't start again for 10 min 11 Feb 2019 (Forum)
  Help I have a Mk4 V5 Golf after running for about 15 minutes the engine cuts out and the emissions warning workshop light flashes up. It then will not start again for about  ten minutes. It then starts again fine but after a few minutes it does it again and takes another ten minutes before it starts again.

  Failed on emission first itme and Lambarda sensor had gone. After replacing and retesting the technician it was now running at prefect emissions. Today the engine management light came on and my regular garage (different to MOT garage) say it is catalytic converter performing under threshold for banks 1 & 2.

  Love them or loathe them, Clarkson, the Hamster and Captain Slow couldn't, for me, be beaten...and no doubt would still be running had Clarkson not been such a muppet. I doubt that I shall now even think about watching Top Gear.

    Maybe the 2.0TDi is the way to go - especially if I can stretch to a VRS... My mileage is around 10k but with good motorway runs, so a DPF shouldn't be an issue.

  ive a escort mk 4 fitted with a 1987 fiesta engine 1.3, its been running fine but now no spark at plugs, its got a bosch electronic ignition,ive checked that after reading on here a article and i have a spark at the coil end of the lead, but nothing at the plugs,took  the cap off,what a job dead tight cleaned inside but there was only about a 1/4 in carbon bush in the end on a spring, got that free put it back still nothing,help please,

  Hi, I Have an 07 transit TDCI problem starts runs well for the first 5sec then dies, not showing any codes on the IDS fitted remote tank with clear hose, no air ingress. Checked all relavant PIDS for PCM on IDS nothing drops out when vehicle stops. checked all relavent connectors for corosion or moisture, checked PCM power and grounds. also no fuel contamination.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  On my way to work this morning i passed a current shape Kia Cee'd going the other way and it's n/s daytime running light was flashing rapidly, not actually going on and off, but dull and bright. Made me think it had a nervous twitch, in fact the first thing that popped into my head was (the great) Herbert Lom in the Pink Panther films!.
• Ford Mondeo - Vandals 8 Mar 2018 (Forum)
  At one side of the garage was a 2013 Ford Mondeo, with every window stoved in bar one, which was the backmost small passenger one. It turns out to be a taxi drivers motor & his main bread & butter jobs were the school runs. So the lowlife in the area has taken away his livelyhood for at least 8 weeks or so. The fitter said it had been stood there for 10 days drying out.  b*********s!

  My wife took photos of the cars and the driver . it looks like there was no damage to my wifes car. the garage looked at it and said the bumper is designed to bounce back out so no damage. is there any comeback my wife who was run into ? We was not going to report it to our insurance as there is no damage    Thanks

  it has now come back on but will go off once the engine has been turned off then after about 2mins comes back on have run diagnostic but no faults where found. have removed and cleaned MAP sensor as advised but still no change has anyone got any ideas?

  Hi  my 2006 touran has started making a funny noise when the engine is running and out of gear..i have a video of the noise but im not even sure if i can post on here i   m a youngish female and ive only been driving a year so dont have any knowledge of cars really i will take the car to the garage on monday but in the mean time just wondered if anyone else has had  this problem and is it a major one..thanks for reading 
• Ford Focus 2004 - Aircon not cooling car 15 Jun 2017 (Forum)
   The mechanic regassed and checked for leaks and said there were none. Today's temperature was in the mid seventies/ 25 centigrade.  I had the Aircon running for 30 minutes but it didn't cool the car down.  Usually when the Aircon is working well I have to turn it off after a few minutes as it gets a bit chilly. Any thoughts please?

  My daughter's washers have packed up, you can hear the pump working just no water out of the jets front or back screens. Running the garden hose into the bottle filler pipe crud starts to flush itself so my question is rather than stripping out to get to the bottle itself ( I'm thinking wheel off, inner lining out ect ) is there a cleaning agent I can use to descale the inside the bottle and flush through the pipes/ Geoff
