  Peeps, been having intermittant problem for far too long now, i'll explain: My clio 1.4RT runs fine, starts fine, all ECU sensors fine. However if you go out for a run and the engine gets hot, then you sit on low idle for a while (for example sitting in a queue for a car park, far to often where I live) the ECU "dumps" its throttle setting and starts to Idle at 1400rpm.

  I renewed the gaskets, cambelt( inc tentioners) and had the heads skimmed. i put it all back together and found it didnt run. I checked the timing and its exact, and also compression. I have a consistant reading of 130 psi on all 6 cyl. The car will run on all 6 cyl but requires a lot of cranking to start it, it wont idle either. runs sweet when started.

  The brake pedal 'bites' so high now (comparatively) that I kept stopping meters before where I intended to!! Anyway, having to travel this weekend, I wanted to know if I have to run-in the brakes before I can safely 'step on it', without causing damage. In that case I could drive the first part of my journey 'conservatively' (low speeds - light braking) to give a chance to the pads to 'bed-in'.

  So far (2 days) I'm very pleased with it (changed from a VW Passat TDI Sport - 115bhp), but am looking for advice on the following: 1. What is the best way to run the car in? Do I need to run it in? Looking to get good mpg and reasonable performance in the long run. 2. The fuel guage looks to be a bit eratic - doesn't move for ages, then drops very quickly.

  The car can stand for a week without water loss. There is no evidence of any exturnal leak during and after a run. The system appears to be under full pressure when hot and stays so until cool! The car runs well, but continues to use water! I should perhaps mention that flushing and RadSeal has been tried. Has any one out there experience a similar problem?

  Interestingly though whilst there is much information on the net regarding rotary engines (partic Japan and the US where the RX7 has been popular and sold in reasonable numbers) I cannot find a single article on how one of these engines should be run in. Any comments people? Also the newer rotary engines seem to have a much better reliability record - can anyone comment on this?

  My 1986 Audi 80 1.6 petrol (Pierburg 2E2 carburettor with automatic choke)is running well when the engine is under load (i.e. it goes well when you have your foot on the accelerator), and runs well when it is cold (the automatic choke keeps the revs high). When the engine has warmed up, it still runs well under load, but when it is idling it is very lumpy and occasionally stalls.

  Can the timing being slightly 'out' cause a diesel engine to run hot? I ask as since the timing belt change recently my Berlingo has been getting 40 more miles to the tank and seems to run cooler! I even phoned the mechanic to say thanks for doing a good job and he said it was out by a few degrees!

  The cambelt snapped leaving 4 inlet valves bent,my local garage replaced all the neccessary parts and engine runs ok however the idle speed has gone bonkers,running at 1800rpm then dropping to 500rpm sometimes stalling.My garage tells me that the ECU has to re learn and my idle should return to normal in a few days.Is this correct?

  The lights on the stereo, click and air conditioning had been slightly pulsing over the last week whilst the engine is running. Now the sound on the stereo is cutting in and out and some buttons are temperamental. This issue only occurs whilst the engine is running Now the fuel gauge drops of intermittently and the powere steering dropped out once today for about 2mins

  Hi my car has developed a problem where the fan is constatly on even if the car is locked intitaly i though it was the coolant temperature senser although haveing disconnected it the fan still continues to run the fan is a 3 speed fan to which it runs at the fastest speed, all fuses still work and the relay is fine what could this be any help  
• Vauxhall Meriva - car with spanner light on dash board 3 May 2015 (Forum)
  My Meriva is running absolutely fine but the car with spanner light keeps lighting up on dashboard. Recently had a service and the garage read stored codes:  P1112 and P1116 I've not noticed any issues with the running of my car so how do I find out what these codes are and should I be concerned.

  My Audi (latest model) is currently running on Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres which are causing a considerable noise into the cabin, which is so disappointing when the engine (1.4 C.O.D.) petrol turbo is so quiet and refined. • Ford Galaxy II 2002 - A/C and Fan switch problems 3 Dec 2011 (Forum)
  Could use some help on following problem. When fan switch in position 1 or 2, fan does not run but A/C switch light is ON. When fan switch in postion 3 or 4, fan runs but A/C switch light goes out. Checked fuses and all are good. Could use a electrical schematic how this is connected and any ideas?
