• Audi A6 Avant 2.5TDI - Poor Warm Starting 26 Sep 2011 (Forum)
  Hi bought a 2002 A6 Avant 2.5TDI. Runs really well, starts from cold fine but is very difficult to start when warm specially when say the car has been run then left for an hour or so. Bought the diagnostic software and lead but no fault codes are listed.

  Would you purchase a car knowing that if you forgot to check your weekly oil levels or missed your service by a few miles that your car can have an engine run-away....(speed up on its own accord without user input)? The fix for an engine run-away is an oil change! So, would you buy one knowing this?

  is it possible to turn off the dip beam lights that automatically turn on when the car starts.I beleive that volvo dealers can do it by resetting part...

  hi can any one help my rad fans done not work if i pull off the brown conector next to the temp sender they will run at low speed have checked all the fues my car has air con as well and it does not run as well any help would be nice thanks ps it is a turbo phase two diesel

  I have a sharan vr6 that I assume has an electrical problem. Even when the engine is cold the temperature guage states 3/4. The cooling fans constantly run even with the ignition off ( fans continue to run for approx 10 mins after ignition is turned off). Any idea what the problem is and how to cure it. Thanks

  i have recently just purchased this car and wish to fit standard tyres instead of run flats,does anyone know the correct space saver wheel/tyre size for this vehicle. The car currently runs on 225/45/17 tyres and will a jack from a E46 fit the recess in the jack points. grateful for ahy information kjt

  Hello Folks, I've just been reading a motoring magazine in which it suggested that VW/Audi FSI/TFSI engines should be run on high octane fuel. It claims that using regular unleaded will cause running or starting problems. Anyone got any ideas on this. I always thought it was only high performance cars that benefited from this?.

  My daughter has a new shape 2003 1.0E micra that was running ok when parked but would not start a few days later. I have checked and there is fuel pressure up to the injectors, but it will start and run when primed with petrol then stop, also the throttle does not work-please bring back the good old cable!

  Haynes manual doesn't really cover or illustrate anything about these cooling system components. The leak is at the metal pipe (piping runs almost directly over the drivers side wishbone and then runs straight on to meet a rubber hose). Any idea how to repair that? Do I need to replace the pipe? Thanks.

  Hello. Just bought a Omega CDX 2000 2.0l, manual, it runs totally fine, but the inhection light comes up once I stop and put the car on neutral, basically, anytime the engine runs lower then 2000 rotations per minute it comes up and engine sounds clogged.

  Friend of mine has started selling fuel efficiency magnets which are placed around the fuel pipe and supposedly improve fuel consumption and possibly performance. Have any BRers tried or run with these fitted? And if so what were the results? I'm sceptical as to the claims but can see some logic in what is supposed to happen to the fuel particles as they run past the magnets. Thing is, does the reorganisation of said particles really make any difference to combustion efficiency?

• MG TF 160 4 Jan 2007 (Forum)
  The heater on my MG seems to be ineffective, only blowing out cool air even when the water and oil temperatures are up to normal running temps. Also the car windows suffer from a lot of condensation that the heater struggles to clear, presumably because the air is never warm. The water level seems ok and the running temps of both oil and water are not elevated.

  I have had front and rear parking sensors fitted by an auto-electrician both front and rear can sense an obstuction or body when switched on without the engine running. The front sensors work when the engine is running but the rear sensors start squarking after about 10 seconds wether any thing is there or not. Sounds like interference from the engine I suppose.

  T reg. 149,00 miler was running great till it cut-out pulling 2,000 rpm. The motor was hot at the time and re-started easily. Tickover is smooth but won't rev up now. with my foot on the accelerator the motor starts to run a bit rough and stays on tickover.

  My trusty Golf, 1988, high mileage but generally good running order has started intermittent misfiring, and now wont start at all! Have checked all obvious, and run through tests in Haynes. Appears to be a very weak, intermittent spark ? Can someone suggest what problem may be ?
