  • 2006 1.9dci Laguna - 2006 Laguna Fuel Injection Problems 26 May 2011 (Forum)
My Laguna comes up with Injection fault everytime the fuel gauge reaches the top of the red section of the fuel gauge when the fuel is getting low. When the fuel is above this the car goes great without any problems which leads me to think that there is nothing wrong with the injectors and that there must be some other fault causing this. I have tried a new Fuel Pressure Regulator and fuel filter to no avail. I am left wondering if maybe its the petrol gauge thats faulty.

  • Astra 2000 1.4 petrol - Car wont bump start 20 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I've had a quick search and it appears it could be something to do with the battery not being connected properly. I dont have any further details as she called me on the phone. Would using jump leads help in this situation - ie to find out if it is the battery terminals/connections?
  • ford fusion - Kangaroo'ing and low MPG 26 Apr 2010 (Forum)
The MPG is low, and if you try to accelerate at or below 2k rpm the engine misfires quite violently and struggles to pickup - although it does eventually. New plugs, aftermarket coil & HT leads.  New ford Air filter, temp sensor and thermostat.  I've checked the crank/cam and o2 sensors on a o'scope and they seem fine (at idle at least) No DTC codes logged,  can see all good things on live data screen, o2 sensor switching ok etc.
  • 1997 1.4 volkswagen polo 8v - engine troubles 22 Apr 2010 (Forum)
hi, i bought my polo yesterday but on the way home the engine started to rattle at idle. like a cylinder was out. so when i got home i did an oil change, new plugs leads, distro cap rotor arm and coil pack. the rattling has more or less gone but the engine is now making a tappety noise, so i have checked the compression on the cylinders and it all seems good, i have no idea what to do next, im quite good usually being an almost qualified engineer (student) any help would be greatly appreciated.
  • Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 03 1.2 Misfiring 24 Dec 2009 (Forum)
My daughter's car has a miss-fire which appears worse when cold. The plugs and leads/coil pack have been replaced together with air filter etc. There are no fault codes on the ECU and the tdc sensor has been checked. Removing the Lambda sensor doesn't make any difference so it's probably not that.
  • Wrong reg number on MoT at auction 8 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I bought a car from a leading auction house on Friday. When I got home I noticed that the registration number on the MoT does not match the registration number of the car. It looks as though the car previously held a cherished plate and it is this number on the MoT.

  • Road noise causes high blood pressure 11 Sep 2009 (Forum)
A Lund University team found risk rose above an average daily exposure of 60 decibels, which accounts for about one in four people in western Europe. They said it was likely noise caused stress - and maybe sleep disruption - leading to blood pressure problems.

  • Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 00 1.4 Blocked windscreen washers 7 May 2009 (Forum)
Sorry to be a complete girlie, however, I have a blockage in the tube leading to the driver's side windscreen washer. When I say blockage, I can see the tube and the tube appears to be hard in the middle, like its calcified. All other washers are working fine. How do I fix it?
  • M5 shut after LPG Land Rover fire 30 Dec 2008 (Forum)
The road was closed for an hour at junction 27, the Sampford Peverell turn-off, near Tiverton, after the incident at about 1130 GMT. 26 December 2008 Police said the motorway was closed for safety reasons because the vehicle was dual-fuelled, carrying petrol or diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fuel." I have not seen any other reports of other road closures for this reason. Will this lead to LPG conversions having warning stickers re LPG?
  • BMW 3-Series E36 (1991 - 1998) - 98 1.8 Locked out due to flat battery!! 1 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I have not driven the car for a few weeks now and when I tried to start it the battery was flat. I locked the car and the locks sounded 'slow' when locking. Once I'd got hold of some jump leads I tried to go and jump start it, but the car won't open with the fob or the key, I'm assuming this is because of the flat battery. How do i go about getting into the car to open the bonnet, or just get under the bonnet and charge the battery??

ive read a few similar problems on here and the earthing was suggested. ive checked and cleaned it. used the cable off a jump lead to attach the gearbox to body, that made no difference. now if i put the ignition lights on then earth the starter motor under the bonnet it starts. and it will start from a push. just not from the key.
  • BMW 3-Series E36 (1991 - 1998) - 96 1.6 Interested in buying. What to look out for 14 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Just wondered what are the points to specially look out for? After looking at two cars the weak points seem to be: 1) Overheating leading to head gasket failure 2) Rust round the rear arches. 3) Sticking sunroof switches and instrumentation problems. 4) Lumpy idle from cold, including hesitancy on revving the engine - my 1992 Toyota doesn't do this!
  • Vauxhall Omega (1994 - 2003) - 1998 2.0 16v petrol - creaking noise from steering 18 Jun 2008 (Forum)
Can anyone help with a strange creaking noise when engine temp is up to 90' or above when steering left or right or going round roundabouts the steering just creaks like a rubber sound, can this mean there is no steering fluid? or lead to another problem. it only happens when the temp goes up. also how do you tell if a spark plug is not firing properly and need changing? • Chip in windscreen - repair? 8 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I don't want to claim again because I reckon I'll get a loading for having had 2 new windscreens in less than a year. But, if the specialists fix it rather than renew it, does that still count as a claim and lead to insurance premium loading next time? Are there DIY kits? Or mobile repairers? Advice please.
  • Vauxhall Vectra B (1995 - 1999) - 96 V6 ignition problem 24 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Hello, 1996 V6 Vectra, has an ignition problem, firing on 4 cylinders, has been plugged into Tech 2 which only indicated No2 and 5 cylinders not functioning. All leads checked individually and 1,3,4,6 all sparking but not 2&5, coilpack removed and coil that supplies 2&5 cracked and melted. Coilpack replaced but 2&5 still not sparking!, any suggestions welcome, have been told this could be an ignition amplifier problem, but do have a clue what or where this unit is on the Vectra.
