  We know about Audis, and so does Glass’s Guide. The prices for them were predictably high. BMWs too. Status still matters. But the 10 reg E92 coupe in the list was ex-Motability, which begs the question of how much the customer had to pay on top of his State funded Mobility Allowance. Crazy money was buying Fiesta diesels, though again broadly in line with Glass’s Guide.

  Some sold for far less than the Glass' trade price while others made impressive money. And there was a wide variety from diesel BMWs to a Montego. There was also a Hilux Surf. The period surveyed was for a couple of hours from 9-11pm. Starting with the most expensive, a desirable BMW 320d SE automatic saloon in blue with 126k miles.

  Someone paid £19,700 for an 19k mile 06 reg Lexus IS220dSE with a chip on the bonnet, which is very good for Lexus residuals but not every sensible when Drivethedeal.com can get you a new one for £22,710. Someone else paid £12,900 for a 155k mile 2003/53 BMW E60 530d manual with leather and satnav. A 161k mile 2004/53 Mercedes E220CDI Classic auto went for a very high £13,300. And the 100k 2003/53 MINI One D in the photo with 17” alloys and other goodies sold for £6,750.

    Make While the biggest decline in sales continued to be from Rover cars, sales of Nissans (down 11.0 per cent) and Renaults (down 10.2 percent) were also hit hard. Sales of used BMWs and Volkswagens, which had remained strong during Q2 in previous years, saw sales fall for the first time.   In comparison to Q1 this year, sales of used Mercedes-Benz and BMW were the only ones to perform strongly (up 3.7 per cent and 3.2 per cent).
