Crowds flock to Race Retro 6 Mar 2017 (News)
Race Retro’s 50 th anniversary celebration of the Cosworth DFV certainly turn heads with a display curated by engine designer Mike Costin, who founded Cosworth with Keith Duckworth, both Hall of Fame nominees for 2017. Cars featured in the tribute included the incredibly rare Tyrell P34 six-wheeler, the Cosworth 4WD, the Lotus 49B, and James Hunt’s McLaren M23. Out on the Rally Stage, under the watchful eye of the team from Rallying with Group B, around 80 Group A, B and C cars provided spectators with thrill after thrill especially when former World Rally Champion Ari Vatanen got back behind the wheel of the Rothmans Ford Escort and Subaru Legacy he drove in period. -

DfT plans to improve MoT test reliability 1 Feb 2012 (News)
According to the DfT’s statement, 27.7% of vehicles tested in 2010-2011 had one or more defects missed or incorrectly identified by test centres, and that one-in-eight cars had their roadworthiness incorrectly assessed. In response to these figures the government is to work with the industry, with motoring organisations, and with consumer groups to focus on the reliability standards of garages. -

” According to industry body Tyre Safe, stopping distances from 50mph on a cold wet road are up to six metres shorter for a car using cold weather tyres compared with regular tyres – which is about the same length as a large family car. In snow, the difference between a cold weather tyre and a standard tyre is even more evident, with stopping distances, braking and cornering performance all dramatically enhanced with the cold weather tyres fitted. -

Motor Codes is Helping to Drive Down Garage Complaints 5 Mar 2009 (News)
In one case where an engine repair failed and caused the vehicle to breakdown, Motor Codes advisors intervened when the garage responsible for the work refused to refund costs associated with a hire car. Just three weeks after starting conciliation, an agreement was reached when the garage agreed to replace the engine at £2,944, pay third party exploratory costs of £129.13, storage fees of £345 and car hire charges of £505 – a total of £3923.13. -
