• confused - 3.5-4.5k auto estate 8 Jun 2011 (Forum)
  Hi Forum, after having a rethink, im in the market finally for a 3.5-4.5k estate auto, i need a decent amount of room and im throughly confused. we will do a mix of driving in it doing about 10k max a year, i presume this rules out a diesel. brand is not an issue but reliability and mpg is. i was thinking a golf or passat previously in diesel format.. so something with a few comforts.

    Is this because the over 75s who like to crash into things (see last week's old lady stomping on her accelerator only to find that she was in reverse in her automatic - she rather spectacularly managed to park on top of a Saab) are willing to claim and they all drive the Jazz?

  Has any one fitted a tow bar to a Lexus 400h. I always understood that because of the drive motors and battery it was not possible to do this but my Lexus dealer tells me that it is possible to do.  Has any one fitted one and what did it cost, what is the 400h like to tow with as I have a 16 foot caravan.

   I have prebooked accomodation in Valence at the start and Anncey at the end of the of the tour, with five nights in between with nothing planned. What I would ask of Backroomers is good roads to drive, places to visit, or places to avoid, from the vast pool of knowlege out there. I look foreward to reading the gems experienced by others.   The deceased's partner is worried about whether they will be liable for these fines, even though they don't drive. Will the deceased's car get towed and crushed?
• 2007 Ford Focus Zetec - Temperature gauge not working, fan operating 29 Mar 2011 (Forum)
  It also tooks a couple of goes to start it which is unusual. What could this be and is it safe to drive? I haven't looked under the bonnet yet. Could it be a fuse? I'm not very technically minded I'm afraid. Thank you

  I inspected nearside driveshaft but this looks ok as far as i know ie. not much play in it. Only seems to happen in reverse, apart from that drives ok. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks In advance. sparky 100.

  ive got a 07 plate skoda fabia 1.4 diesel fault code was 16705 p0321 ignition distributor engine speed input circuit - g28 range performance changed cam and cranksensor and also new timing belt fitted but still the same problem.car drives until you give a bit of stick and get to about 4000 rpm then the eml comes on any help appreciated

  On starting up today it backfired and idle speed started to fluctuate and sounds rough until I rev. No loss of power when driving but a bit jumpy after slowing down and accelerating. Could timing be out by a tooth even though it was fine to start with?

  Hi all My insurance company have informed me that the date of the TS10 conviction I delcared differs on my driving licence to the detials that they have from when I took out the policy.  We have had to claim due to an accident and I've sent all the documentation in that they requested. Is this just cause for them to not pay out?

  hi, does anyone know how to stop the alarm on my mk3 mondeo. problem started after car battery change. now every time i open the door the alarm sounds and the indicators flash. problem is, i only have one key which does not have buttons. i can still drive the car but cant stop the alarm. any help much appreciated.

  My son has recently renewed his road tax online, it has yet to arrive through the post, but, he continues to drive with a note attached to his old disc to the effect that his tax is in the post, i have told him that our brave boys in blue will pull him for "failure to display" irrespective of whether he has paid online or not, am I correct in my assumption, or will they consult their system and accept that he has indeed paid?

  The above vehicle requires a high pressure diesel pump as the drive for the transfer pump on the rear of the h/p pump has sheared. Ican source a second hand one from breakers. Does anyone know if a s/hand one can be re-programmed to this vehicle any feedback greatly accepted Regards Mickeybo

  To make and receive calls 2. Make and receive text messages 3. Able to use with a bluetooth ear piece for driving. It must have NO CAMERA OR PICTURE RECEIVING ABILITY It must also have NO INTERNET CAPABILITY. Am I twenty years behind the times or does such a model still exist? Thank you.
• Fiat Selecta - Auto Transmission 5 Feb 2011 (Forum)
  My wife has a Fiat Selecta which suffers from an occasional loss of transmission power when it has come to a halt. When she tries to move away the engine revs but their is no drive. The only way she appears to be able to resolve the problem is to put the transmission in Park, switch off the ignition and then restart the engine when the car moves away in the normal manner. Can anyone suggest the cause and a solution to this problem?

  a friend of mine has just bought the above said car and has asked me about it  he says that every so often and when driving at night his headlights will dim as well as the instrument panel and his stereo will cut  out its the standard ford stereo fitted then within seconds it will all work again any ideas will be appreciated thanks

  hi iv just changed the turbo on my scenic it runs an drives but a bit sluggish in first gear its not responding revs seem to be low ,also when the turbo blew there was a lot ov oil in the air ducts which i have cleaned ,the air duct pipe going into the intercooler keeps blowing off ,i think there could be blockage mabey oil. what do you think, thanx blue1965

  I've just aquired my first ever diesel car and am wondering if there's anything I need to know about running a diesel engine.  For example, should I warm up the engine before I drive off?  Does it harm it if some weeks I only do short journeys? Or any other useful tips. Thanks in anticipation

  Hi, I'm currently looking for a new car with a budget of around £1600, but would push £2k if it makes a big difference. I'd be driving to and from work (about 15 miles A roads, 15 miles M6) and other general business, so ideally something that is fairly cheap to run. Cheap insurance would be useful too. I know all the usual candidates, but just wondered what peoples thoughts were.
