• Vauxhall Vectra C 2001 - problem with engine mis-firing and rev counter 26 Apr 2013 (Forum)
  The car starts ok from cold.  A recent problem has shown that after driving for approximately one hour, then stopping  (engine switched off)  when re-starting, the engine mis-fires and the rev counter drops to zero.  The engine runs, but sluggishly and the rev counter fails to work.

  i have a focus and it feels like there is water in the fuel .  as i drive it it suddenly has no power and then it will pick up with a sudden lurch and black smoke blows out when you crews it feels like it is missfireing it has had a new egr and top end as the cam belt broke that was 9 months ago. does any one know whats wrong .

  Put my corsa b gsi through mot this week to find out it failed on headlight beam pattern on driivers side when I drive it to wall to adjust I have no pattern on one side only on the pass side I adjusted it but cannot find the pattern I dont no why this is Can anyone help please. Much appreciated

  hello there! right i have a 2001 y reg GS, 1.4 vvti while driving at nite with the lights on, the foglight symbol on dash flickers on and off, and sometimes stays on?  need to press the switch to turn off, and can come on again? from what i can see, the relay is in the switch?

  Looks pretty good, lots of service history including invoices. 2004 model 90k miles. Reasonably priced, I'm test driving it towmorrow. However, the guys only owned it for a few months and his reason for selling is he needs something bigger.  Is it even worth going to look? Thanks
• Citroen C4 - Vibration at startup / engine off. DMF? 19 Dec 2012 (Forum)
  I have a citroen, that make a vibration at startup, and engine off. Everything else, driving, gearchange, etc is fine. Could this be a sign of DMF failure. i.e when engine is up to idle speed all is ok, but there is a vibration as the engine is below idle (i.e startup / switch off).

  Having had to drive today in terrible snow many cars were running without lights and were difficult to see but a yellow car stood out like a sore thumb I dislike yellow as a car colour but it certainly has its places.My car is gunmetal grey metalic lovely colour in my opinion but very difficult to see.

  The traction control light has started coming on on my Octavia. I comes on after a few miles of driving but for no apparent reason and resets once the engine is turned off. Two front abs sensors have been cleaned and seem okay. Probably a coincidence but the clutch has just been replaced. Any advice would be appreciated.

  A car "scraped" into me today whilst driving on a 2 lane into 1 lane road at slow speed of about maybe 20 mph. I have small scrape and so does other car. As far as I am concerned it was other drivers fault but no doubt they will say opposite.

  I HAVE A BMW 318I SE 1.9 1999 MODEL WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING STILL THE TEMP IS FINE. WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR IT STARTS TO OVERHEAT. AND LOOSES WATER I HAVE BLEDED THE COOLING SYSTEM. THE WATER PUMP IS NEW THE RADIATOR HAS A VERY MINOR LEAK. I ALSO NOTICED THAT IT HAS NO THERMOSTAT IN. THE HEADGASKET IS FINE AS THERE IS NO WATER MIXING PLEASE CAN ANY 1 HELP

  The idle seemed to be quite lumpy (hunting) -but not eratic- and noisy but seemed fine when revved.I expect it to be  a little noisy as its done 118000 miles. the test drive was great with engine quite responsive and powerful compared to my old 2.3 petrol galaxy... Does this engine have a timing belt and could this be the problem

  Hi My daughter is about to buy her first car, and quite likes the Pug 206 (as her mum has one).  personally, I don't, but I'll not be driving it. It will probably be ten years old, for £1000 and 60k - 80k miles.  What problems should I specifically look out for when I go and see advertised examples? Thanks

    Looking for a decent vehicle to do over 35,000+ miles a year that is both reliable and fuel efficient. I would be the only passenger mainly motorway driving, old car was a petrol 1.2 which was costing me tons on fuel so maybe a diesel. Advice on what maximum mileage I should be looking and age would be great total newbie!!       Thanks in advance

    Heya all. I'm having a problem with my fiesta. if I drive with the heater on cold and the fans turn of my engine heat goes from just over the middle into the red. as soon as I put the fans on hot and turn them on full the engine heat goes back to normal in the middle.
