  One year ago, car would slow down approaching even slight gradienst needing many downward gear changes. This followed by all the DPF problems finally needing new filter , sensors etc. new filter (patterned version) clogged twice, patterned sensors failed resulting in severe loss of power on motorway.   I'm thinking of buying a Toyota Avensis 2006 Diesel, but the only reason why i'm not sure whether to buy it or not is because I don't know if all diesel have something called a DPF. Does the Toyota Avensis 2006 Diesel have a DPF? The reason why I ask is because a few weeks back I bought a Mazda 6 Diesel and the dpf light flashed constantly and then the power died down and couldn't even drive it up a hill properly.

  I think this goes from 2005-2008. I definatly want a diesel and like the idea of a quattro. I know that there is no DPF on the 140bhp model but there is on the 170bhp. Ideally I dont want a DPF on the car for the risk of it clogging up. Are all the quattro models 170bhp or is there a 140bhp without the DPF? Ill probably have around £6000 to spend so I dont know if this would be enough for a good model.
