Vauxhall Senator (1987 - 1995) - 1990 3.0 24v - Ignition System 11 Mar 2008 (Forum)
Hi, I need to know what type of ignition system the 3.0 senator uses. Does it use a distributor/pickup trigger (distributorless) etc? Does the ECU have any input for advance/retard? As much info in this area as possible would be greatly appreciated!! Many thanks, Jon -

Passat tdi 1998 -central locking problem 22 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Not long ago my carpets were soaked after heavy rain, which I understand to be a common problem . Could the failure of the c/l be due to the ecu getting wet or is that unlikely seeing as all other locks work OK? -
Corsa Easytronic 21 Feb 2007 (Forum)
My wife has a Corsa easytronic,it will not start and is showing aflashing F in the gearshift display,I have renewed two relays but this has not helped. The Tech 2 diagnostics are saying that the ECU thinks it is in 4th gear and will not let it start,if anyone has any experience of the above symptoms and any suggestions I would be delighted to hear from them,it is currently sitting in a vauxhall garage waiting for them to get round to looking at it.cheers Wrock -
Mondeo diesel running roughly 30 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Friend's S reg 1998 Mondeo diesel: The engine has started to run very roughly. Took it in to Ford dealer, they checked ECU etc. I suspected a slight blockage in the injection - so have put detergents in and given it an Italian tune up (ie revved it lots in driving). No joy - if anything the knocking , and occasional belching of smoke from exhaust have increased. -

2000 TDI Vectra hard to start above 4°C 17 Apr 2006 (Forum)
It will start fine when the glowplugs are initiated (below 4°C), however it takes a lot of cranking before spluttering into life at anything above this, when the glowplugs aren't activated by the ECU. Is there any way to increase the temperature at which the glowplugs don't turn on? Thanks in advance. -------------- Mike Farrow -

Peugeot 306-intermittant stalling 10 Jan 2005 (Forum)
This query for an acquaintence of mine who does'nt want to be ripped off!.Car's a petrol V reg 306 which is intermittantly stalling .Main dealer says the ecu is at fault and wants £600 to replace.Local scrappies have bought no joy.Firstly is this a common fault on these cars and secondly is there a company (like Best of British Rover which I use for my Rover parts)that could supply the part for a more reasonable figure. Thanks in advance -
intermittent fault on Rover 111 4 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Tidy, but Obvious it needed a good service at least, as ran a bit rough, and then started having probs starting. Garage said service not sorted faults, and diagonsed ECU faults, so replaced. However , now when it runs its smooth, but about 1 in 10 times it will not start, and but seems to do if left for a few hours. Any ideas -
Nissan Micra timing retards 25 Jun 2004 (Forum)
It has been checked at a Nissan dealer, and two independent garages. The last one discovered that the ecu puts out spike waveforms when it is running normally. It then squares off the spikes for four waves and the timing retards. Everything checks out. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks, Bob -
Nissan QX Throttle 7 Apr 2004 (Forum)
When cold it won’t start without a little throttle but once started you need to keep a bit of throttle on for a mile then it is perfectly ok for the rest of the day. I have not had chance to look at it but assume the stepper motor is not kicking in. NO ECU detected Faults. Any known faults with this one or suggestions what else can cause this. Regards Peter -
Omega 2.0 16v Speed Senser location 2 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Hi All, can anyone tell me where i can find the vehicle speed sensor on a 2ltr Omega please? I have an ecu error reporting no signal from vehicle speed sensor but i'm not sure weather the sensor is on the gearbox or on the speedo itself. Symptoms are inoperative speedo and no Inst/Cons readout on the computer display. -
BMW 320d - Compact 21 May 2003 (Forum)
Was lent one of these today whilst the 530d was in for a minor glich (rough running, traced to a ECU software fault). What a great little motor, certainly had plenty of poke and felt just as solid as its bigger brothers that I have driven, felt more like the 330d (character etc etc) than the 530d does. -

BMW repairs in London. 11 Feb 2002 (Forum)
I have an '87 325i SE Auto which should have a lot of life left in it at 97K, but it has had a series of intermittent electrical faults with engine management / ECU that hundreds of pounds at 'BMW Specialists' have failed to rectify. Does anyone know a good, honest, reputable garage / mechanic who could give the car a good looking over and do a full diagnostic test that I can rely on? -
FIAT Stilo 1.6 2002 16V - Car keeps cutting out 28 Nov 2012 (Forum)
I've seen several posts on the forum where individuals have spent £1100 (ECU replaced amongst other things) and still not had the issue fixed. So I suppose I should count myself lucky that so far I've spent just under £800. I've also seen posts where replacing the ECU fixed the problem for up to 5 weeks or so, before re-occurring. -

Peugeot Boxer 2.2HDI - intermittent engine slow down 25 Jan 2019 (Forum)
It seems down on power and when pulling up hill or working a bit hard to engine slows for a few seconds then slowly builds back up again. I was also thinking of having an ECU remap to boost the power output, is this possible with this engine
