    Stephen Glaister, Director of the RAC Foundation, said: “Finding a parking space can be stressful but when things go wrong in car parks on private land and disputes arise over parking tickets emotions run high. “It is not always clear how the charges invoiced by private parking companies are arrived at, whilst the process for appealing may not be fully understood.” You can read the full RAC report below.

    It’s up for sale at £800 – so be prepared for a project that needs a bit of TLC. That said, it completed the Triumph 10 Counties Run in 2013, so this workhorse isn’t afraid of a little, er, hard work. Having clocked up the miles, you might be able to get away with just giving that straight-six a good service – but the automatic gearbox will need some attention as it has developed a leak.

    Offered with no reserve, the two-owner car has so-far covered 47,921 miles but is now indeed of a full restoration, including new sills. There’s some good news for the buyer, though – the car does run and all of its Turbo-specific parts and trim are there and unmolested (although it’s currently on Minilite-style wheels). The Turbo was just one of several high-value items that passed through the doors at the King’s Lynn-based auction house, the most expensive of which was a 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII.

    However, in 1987, following a number of high-profile accidents and prominent driver deaths, Group B was banned, with enthusiasts’ only chance to see the cars in action restricted to demonstration events. 2014 marks the 30th anniversary of the 6R4, and Group B is staging a special display of these iconic rally machines at the Festival. At the 2014 Donington Historic Festival, the HRCR will run a series of auto-tests on the Melbourne Loop and will field a guest driver who worked with the Rootes Group Competitions Department during the period when the Sunbeam Tiger was the model of choice for many international events.

      The first slice of the collection to be offered in August will be barn finds, project cars as well as some still in perfect running order. They range from a 1956 left hand drive 356A Coupe barn find, which still drives, complete with matching engine and chassis numbers, to a 1972 left hand drive 911E project car with US title and UK custom documents.

    This particular DB5 had a near 18 month, no expense-spared restoration with parts supplied from Aston Workshop and HWM Aston Martin. Extensive mechanical work was undertaken to include an upgrade to run on unleaded fuel, water pump overhaul, reconditioning of the starter motor and replacement of various other consumables and components. The car was fully stripped and repainted in Royal Blue metallic by Specialised Paintwork of Reading in March 2013.

    In 2012 Don will attempt the beat the world land speed record for electric vehicles in the car, with a top speed of more than 350mph in his sights. Don Wales said: “One day we’re going to run out of today’s fuels and electric is the future.  I’ve felt strongly about this for over a decade and launched Bluebird Electric in the late 1990s.  “I’m pleased that it’s now being taken seriously by the industry, and events such as EcoVelocity are an excellent way to showcase how far green technology has progressed.”

    This will be for 1950 to 1965 GT and Sports cars complying with the specifications required by FIA Appendix K and running on Dunlop L, M and R Section Historic tyres. The race, using the Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone, is for one or two drivers, with a mandatory pit stop. The entry fee is £450.

    Petrol-engined cars were most popular for people buying with a scrappage incentive deal, with petrol making up 84% of sales against 58% for total UK cars sales during the period the Scrappage Incentive Scheme was running. The SMMT's chief executive Paul Everitt commented: 'The scrappage scheme has provided vital stimulus during a difficult period. The industry must now work to sustain this momentum and is urging the government to postpone the introduction of the first year rate of VED an avoid dampening demand while the economic recovery remains fragile.'
