Then having been away to Devon a couple of weeks ago I received more unwelcome post. This time caught doing 36 in a 30 limit after taking a wrong turn, from behind by a mobile/hand held camera, so that's three points and a speed awareness course - gather the latter is good.

  He/she hammered right up to me and swerved violently to pass me....then slowed down to 30mph because there was a speed camera there. Once past he hurtled off into the distance causing due panic ahead. Surely police cars are immune from speed cameras aren't they? Especially when on an emergency call.   Hello, yesterday whilst driving into work I passed a camera van that was sat on the side of the road, this road is normally  50mph but is currently being resurfaced.  I was doing roughly 30mph coming round the corner, panic'd slightly at seeing the van and slowed down to 20mph that is marked at the start of the rough road by a 'max speed 20mph sign'.

In the past, in the absence of signs to the contrary, I've always assumed that the limit was 70 and in fact I've driven past the camera at 70 on countless occasions.

  Given the circumstances (men working, narrow lanes, contraflow, cones, busy traffic), driving above 40 would have been silly. Nevertheless, painting the camera yellow and then hiding it seems a little dubious.

  Hi, off on the annual hols to Dorset in a few weeks time, traveling on the M62 from West Yorks onto the M60 then the M6 and so to the M5, where are the speed cameras on these roads? I found Marks bit on MORE SPECS on the M6 junction 6 & 7 but couldn't find the original thread that started that one off. Going very early to miss traffic and get up a good pace so knowing where all the points of interest are will be good news.
