  Dealer and MINI UK not too interested so in desperation I brimmed tank (always use non-supermarket fuel) from 7/8ths empty with Shell V-Power.  Almost immediate improvement to auto behaving close to expectation, far less fussy, smoother, more responsive to driver inputs.  At last a pleasure to drive.  Is it me, or can V-fuel do this?

  Gone through 3 tanks of Shell v power diesel over the last few months. Averaged between 41 to 44MPG. All three tanks where from same filling station just off M6 near Preston. On the last tank we went on holiday over to North Yorkshire.

  I'm looking to buy my first diesel as a compromise of power v economy. My compromise is, i've been driving a 1.6 petrol toyota corolla for a while now and i want something quicker. Toyotas are cheap for me, i can buy them at v near cost with cheap servicing and often labour free bills.

  Vectra with serious lack of pulling power when taking off, recently bought in auction, loads of work carried out on it and only 55.000 miles hence reason for purchase. New manifold EGR valve etc etc, but local V/Hall tech cannot "Fix" it says its a waste of time and get shut??

  V reg Mondeo with 90K miles on the clock has suddenly lost power. It starts OK and doesn't run rough but will not rev freely and struggles to get past 70. All fluids etc are OK and no obvious faults or noises.

  My car has had a replacement reclaimed engine (V reg), a reconditioned fuel pump and a new cam-belt earlier this year. The car starts okay but after driving a while the glow plug flashes and it loses power. I was able to restart it, however the same thing happened after a short while.

  I have a V reg 1.1 Saxo and seems to have a problem where it has temporary loss of power when accelerating or just cruising along in general. The car then starts to jolt and gets surges of power. The only way to stop it doing this is usually to change gear Occasionally when slowing down the car has a tendency to stall, even though the car is still moving at a reasonable speed of around 30 mph and appears to have low revs, this is noticable when waiting at traffic lights etc as when no gas is applied the lights seem less bright, only to illuminate better once gas is applied.
