Ford Transit (2001) - Transist 2.0TDDi running fault 13 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I have spoken to a diesel specialist and have been told that this sympton sounds like a bent con rod which i find hard to believe as surely for this to happen it must have to have valve to piston contact or it must of hydrauliced. Neither of these have happened. I have replaced the fuel filter and this has improved the the general performance of the van slightly but noth the missfire. I am now starting to think maybe the injectors are at fault and it is not getting enough fuel to 1/all cylinders Any help would be greatly appriciated as im no diesel expert. -

Vauxhall Zafira A (1999 - 2005) - 2000 1.8 16V - Fault code 0170. 3 Feb 2011 (Forum)
Hi Folks; Well, after about 35K of largely trouble free motoring SWMBO's Zafira decided to play up and light the EML yesterday. Local mechanic read the codes, 0170 'fuel trim malfunction'. Having cleaned up the throttle valve body - 110K miles of gunk was cauisng unstable idle anyway - and reset the light it's currently behaving itself. However I'd like to know what the code really means? -

Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.8 Non start Diesel 15 Jan 2011 (Forum)
There are no warning lights on the dash while I'm cranking, the glow plug light comes on and goes off as before and plugs have been tested with a continuity meter and checks out fine and no unburnt fuel traces are eminating from the tailpipe, so I think this must be some kind of fuelling issue. I've drained the battery numerous times trying to get the car to start. Any help greatly appreciated! -

VW mk2 Golf 1300 transistorized ignition - VW MK2 Golf chugs to a halt. 8 Jan 2011 (Forum)
The hesitant and chugging symptom was not really a spark plug misfiring as I removed a plug connector and the misfiring sound here was different. The fuel filter is fairly new and the fuel pump was replaced, this did not solve the problem. All ht leads appear in good condition. -

America - Pollution 28 Jul 2010 (Forum)
now I do sympathise with the spill & it should never of happened & if it did a contingency plan should of been in place BUT the American goverment approved the drilling in the first place & they still allow then to run around in 5-10 ltr 4x4's by the million. Fuel was still very cheap & whilst out there we used an SUV ( Chevey 4x4) and it was 40 dollars to fill up froma quarter!on average, so about £30.00 !! so cheap & they moan about cost of fuel! we were paying between $2.67 & $3.65 per American gallon so at the most expensive about £2.50ish for around 4 ltrs. -
ford focus 1.6 - all dials zero, no loss of power. 19 Jul 2010 (Forum)
Ive been to the local garage who pluggedd it into their machine and the only code it displayed was a fuel sensor code. Which meant that the tank was empty (this must be because it zero'd out.) nothing else comes up on the diag machine. He's adament its the fuel sensor i dont think it is. not sure its the vss as there is no loss of power or any intermittent light.
