  • Top Gear Thread Volume 30. 1 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Coastguards have slammed an audacious bid by Top Gear stars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May to DRIVE across the Channel. The daredevil trio all attempted to make the crossing across the world?s busiest shipping lane in three specially-adapted cars for the hit BBC TV show. Speed rating e.g. H, V, mud and snow capability ?M & S?, tread wear index, load index etc.. seems a lot to test/check - presumably on all sizes. With so many far eastern brands, I cannot believe that independent verification is being carried out on them all.
