Rare 1969 Jensen FF in Historics 23rd November auction 17 Nov 2019 (News)
One of only 193 built, the Jensen FF came with two important innovations: Ferguson Formula four-wheel drive and Dunlop Maxaret anti-lock brakes. Powered by a 6,276cc Chrysler hemi V8 engine with power fed through a Torqueflite automatic transmission it had a top speed of 140mph and could get to 100 in 19 seconds. -
Hidden Hero: Peugeot 307 GT Feline 13 Sep 2019 (News)
No 307 was utterly engaging to drive, but they did have a good ride and an impressive amount of grip. Dynamically (if you could get used to the horrid driving position), it was at the upper end of passable. The original DAF Daffodil from 1959 and its successor, the 33, used a 746cc air-cooled engine, while in 1964 the DAF 44 was introduced, powered by an upgraded 844cc engine developing a heady 34bhp. -

Not everyone has enjoyed a trouble-free run today and the final days before we enter Paris are a nerve-jangling affair, we all are glad of some competition and driving great roads but equally our hearts are set on driving into Place Vendome mid-day on Saturday. Someone who hit trouble early on was the Ford Model A of Rod Wade in car 19 – he has run a big-end bearing, he has a spare and has taken the decision to get his car on a truck to Davos for repairs. -
683 Mazda MX-5s Set New One Model Parade World Record 17 Jun 2013 (News)
The second prize went to Maarten Tuiten from Almelo (NL), followed by Ludo Vander Vliet from Duffel (B), winning third place in this competition. At the end of the day, about 250 cars still present joined to form a large drive-in cinema. Prior to the showing, the viewers were asked to pick from three films and seated at the wheel of their cars, the owners cast their vote by blowing their horn to indicate their preferred film. -

Mini Day at Castle Combe 24th September 17 Sep 2011 (News)
If drooling over the cars on display and watching them on the track leaves you hungry for more then drivers from the Mighty Mini Championship, including the 2010 Champion - Louise Inch, will be offering high-speed passenger rides around the circuit in their race cars - it's £20 a session, with the money raised donated to charity. Louise will also be leading a woman-only track session at 1.15 pm to show the men how to drive. Also new for this year's show, will be several displays of drifting cars, guaranteed to bring tears to your eyes as they smoke their tyres around the circuit. For those not familiar with this crazy and spectacular sport, Drifting refers to a driving technique where the driver intentionally over steers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while maintaining vehicle control and a high exit speed. -

Ford Powershift 'auto' Now More Widely Available 14 Aug 2009 (News)
Drivers have the option of using a full automatic mode or selecting gears manually. In automatic mode, the enjoyment of relaxed driving is the same as for a conventional automatic transmission, with the usual Park, Reverse, Neutral and Drive settings. Shifting the gear lever to the right activates a sports mode, enabling the driver to make swift and smooth manual changes when the lever is moved forwards (to change down) or backwards (to change up). -
