Vauxhall Astra - Smart Motorways 2 Jul 2018 (Forum)
How much thought have the authorities given to this scenario and what are you expected to do in the time before a stationary car is detected and a lane blocked sign appears on the overhead gantries. Somebody must have given the go ahead for this development, how would a risk assessment cover this? -

Volkswagen Passat (2001 - 2005) - Passat 2.0 20v-warranty claim advice 27 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Warranty does indeed not cover such additional work, but my thoughts are that maybe since I've had the car less than 3 months sale of goods act etc may come into play regarding recompense from the supplying dealer for the additional cost or indeed there may be ways of getting the warranty to pay out more. -
Volvo V90 - Repairs on new (to me) car 23 Apr 2021 (Forum)
Volvo main dealer identified problem as water ingress leading to it shorting out. New unit required: £430 fitted. The seller is now refusing to pay for it, only offering to cover the £180 it would cost for a USED unit, fitted by them, a 2.5 hour drive each way. The warranty bought with the car doesn’t cover water ingress, of course. Additionally, when Volvo called the warranty company they only had a quote request, it took a further call to the dealer to get them to activate the policy, more than a fortnight after delivery of the car. -
Should I buy a Vectra? 22 Jun 2004 (Forum)
As I have said in my thread in Technical Matters I have the possibility of buying a 1999 V plate Vectra 2.0 DTi LS with A/C for about £2,500. It has covered 70K and had only one owner. I have read the Car By Car breakdown and I'm not impressed by what I have read, are the 99 model Vectras really that bad? My uncle had one for a good while and didn't seem to have any major issues, but I was wondering what other Backroomers have found. -

Focus boot load capacity 12 Oct 2005 (Forum)
It will be a short journey on 30 mph roads so I'm not concerned about any detrimental effect on the car's handling. What I'm concerned about is avoiding damage to the car. The handbook doesn't seem to cover this topic. -- L\'escargot. -
