  • Lexus IS250/220D (2005 - ) - 07 2.5 New Clutch after 3,500 miles ???? 8 Oct 2008 (Forum)
My father in law has a 57 plate Lexus is250 (petrol). He has often thought that the clutch has a high biting point but this week his missus has taken it for it's first service. The dealers have said it needs a NEW CLUTCH through bad driving and want a grand for a new clutch.
  • Lexus NX - Car buying dilemma. 2 Feb 2025 (Forum)
i have been keeping an eye on the price of Lexus NX’s and have an offer from the carwow platform of 5.9% off a top-spec Takumi model, which seems very reasonable ( my partner struggled to get anything at all off her LBX). With my 24K earmarked for the roadster and the value of my Volvo I have enough to buy the Lexus.
  • Lexus 4 Aug 2024 (Forum)
Makes the Lexus look quite interesting considering the good press they get everywhere including on HJ. So did a bit of looking on the Lexus Forum and found this. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/147488-lexus-disaster/ Would not affect us since we don't go abroad but it does not make the company look great.
  • lexus is250 - used price fixing? 4 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Just looking at used examples of the Is 250 convertible on autotrader, all 30 are in the hands of Lexus dealers, cheapest at £30k. You can get a new one from drivethedeal for £4k more than an 09 plate with 20k miles or £2k more than a 10 plate with 10k miles. Seems like an unreasonably low level of depreciation - are they trying to stimulate the new market by holding onto the very thin supply of these (you would think) unsellable-at-the-price used examples?
  • Lexus Oil change frequency 13 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Hi the Lexus dealership in the UAE has a requirement for oil change frequency - every 5000km's, I realise the heat of the UAE is a strain but every 5000 KM's seems excessive. They state they use BP 5000. From the BP web site: SAE 5W-40 API SL / CF ACEA A3-02, B3-98 Issue 2, B4-02 Volkswagen VW 502.00 & 505.00 BMW (Longlife-98) Mercedes Benz (MB Sheet 229.3) Porsche any views gents?
  • Not so perfect Lexus 18 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Took a trip down the M1 yesterday and at one point was left standing by a Lexus 300. It was an 04 reg and was leaving a trail of smoke like the red arrows! He eventually caught up with another car and slammed on, this was followed by a huge plume of smoke leaving the exhaust, when we passed through the cloud our cabin stank of burning oil.
  • Lexus IS200 (year 2001, 1998cc) 14 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Hi, I need to find out if I have the modified fuel injectors fiited to my car. I have contacted Lexus and their records show that they have not fitted any. However, they may have been fitted by an Independant. Can anybody advise how can I identify original and modified injectors. i.e Part Numbers or colour etc?
  • Build quality new Lexus IS250 2 Feb 2006 (Forum)
Well after 3 weeks the bloom has worn off...rattles from doors( the first one started within 3 miles of the showroom) and now the dash as well. After all the praise and JD power ratings is this a one off or is the baby lexus being built to price..? Anyone else had the same problems with this model .. Alan
  • Lexus IS300 - Ex-Police Lexus IS300 - how value for ex-Police 3 Jan 2011 (Forum)
All other things equal, how much do you knock off Parkers when pricing an ex-Police car? I've been offered a Lexus IS300 2004 85k that is supposedly ex-CID, private sale by the 2nd owner who claims to have bought at auction then realised he couldn't afford the insurance.  From the pics there's no obvious sign of mis-use or holes in bodywork.
  • 5 year old Lexus vs 1 yr old Mondeo. 4 Nov 2002 (Forum)
With a hatchback it is undoubtedly the more practical, insurance is around £200 cheaper and day to day running costs should prove lower. However, a used Lexus will be prepared to `as new` standards and will have an excellent warranty and dealer back up. Numerous satisfaction surveys suggest I will enjoy Lexus ownership far more than Ford. That said, the motoring press generally agree that the current Mondeo is an excellent vehicle and far better than many `luxury` competitors.
  • Lexus - Caveat Emptor 26 Oct 2008 (Forum)
What do you expect us to do about it ?? and explained that my purchase was from the dealer and that Lexus GB distanced themselves from the transaction. I subsequently had a written response from Lexus GB which reiterated the dealer opinion that I had been ?treated fairly? ? notwithstanding that I had sourced a car through the Lexus GB website, had purchased a Lexus Approved Used car from an approved Lexus Dealership and was now over £1000 out of pocket.
  • Lexus 220d smoking at mid-temperature 16 Jan 2013 (Ask HJ)
My Lexus has 110,000 miles on the clock and is 06 reg. I think this is low miles for a diesel. Recently it has started to smoke a bit. The smoke is whitish/blue...

  • Lexus GS 300, 430, 460 (2005 - ) - New car, happy with fuel economy !! 4 Aug 2009 (Forum)
To my amazement the Lexus returned 40.1 mpg on the OBC! I obviously thought this was a wild overestimation and rechecked using the ?Brim to Brim? method. This gave 39.9 mpg !! So not only is the car remarkably economical, but the OBC is deadly accurate.
  • M Reg Lexus GS300 Auto - Advice 26 Oct 2005 (Forum)
High mileage but an absolute minter of a car. Couldn't be in better condition and just had new pipe, tyres, timing belts and a radiator fitted. Discuss.
